CursorXP Freezing right after install.

I just got a new laptop, and I'm almost done installing all my programs. The only problem is that when I install curorxp, and click finish, my PC freezes, and an error message pops up displaying Dr Watson has encountered an error and needs to close. I have been using cursorxp on my main system for a while, and never had a problem like this. Does anyone know of this problem and how to go about fixing it? Thanks. Also, I reinstalled cursorxp, and the same thing happened.

Their are some problems with CursorXP, with a combination of SP2 and AMD 64 chips, don't know if this is what's affecting you. A solution is being worked on. Apart from that I dunno...

I am having the same problem, i am running a laptop with an AMD64 3000+. My system crashes and I have to reload the OS. I also am not able to use windows blinds. When I try to load a skin, it loads classic mode and that's all I get. I know this doesn't happen on Intel systems, cause i have 2 running SP2.

Man i hope they hurry with fixes cause this freaking sucks, NO MORE AMD FOR ME!!!!

The problem with WB & SP2 with AMD64 chips was fixed in 4.4.

If you still have a problem with WB 4.4 on the machine then please uninstall WB, delete its directory (and wbsys.dll in the system32 dir) & then reinstall WB as the install obviously didn't overwrite some files correctly.

CursorXP has a known issue which will cause it to crash when DEP is enabled on AMD64 chips running SP2.  Disabling DEP is a workaround for now but we are working on a solution to this.

For those of us who are only semiliterate, what the heck is DEP and how does one go about disabling it on an AMD 64 chip? Which I happen to have.

End users who are logged on as administrators can manually configure DEP between the OptIn and OptOut policies using the Data Execution Prevention tab inside the System Properties dialog box. The following procedure describes how to manually configure DEP on the computer:

1.Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.

2.Click the Advanced tab. Then, under Performance, click Settings.

3.Click the Data Execution Prevention tab.

4.Click Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only to select the OptIn policy.

5.Click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select to select the OptOut policy.

6.If you selected the OptOut policy, click Add and add the applications that you do not want to use DEP with.
