From earlier times, I'd have to agree with Red Skelton, and Jack Benny. Also Richard Pryor, Lenny Bruce, Freddie Prinze, Dick Gregory, Johnathan Winters, Phyllis Diller, Don Rickles, and Flip Wilson.
