Stray Kitty
Thursday, July 1, 2004 by _footsie_ | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Being the fruitcake that I am I gentled it into coming to me after about half an hour of 'cat talking' to it.
I wasn't happy to find it was a young male...discovering this as it backed up to my raspberry bushes and started shaking its adolescent little tail. (spraying)
After coaxing I got it to come to me and it purred and lovey dovey'ed and I thought I might (as it was happy and willing) hoist it to my arms for a snuggle....
at which time all hell broke loose and the little sh*t commenced to ripping half the skin off my arms and gnawing not very gently into my forearm at which time I commenced to let loose the little demon and let him find his petting and comfort elsewhere
so much for my wild kingdom conquests
I will now attempt the uncomfortable process of pouring peroxide on my gaping gashes and slather antibiotic ointment and bandaides over my injured pride....
and teach the dog what 'get the bad kitty' means
not really
dang
I'll have to take a couple of days off of splitting wood
gee that's too bad!

Could be me but you need to watch out with cats, for serouse, if a cat isn't your, just don't touch it. I might sound very stupid at the moment but you can get a seriouse infection if 'he ripped hlaf the skin of your arms'.I have a friend who this happend to... compare it with what happens when a dog bites you...

he ran off out back.....either the owls or the foxes will probably get him now.
Dang this is gonna be sore tomorrow lol
I did the peroxide thing and the anti bacterial thing and the antibiotic thing...the youngster wasn't feral....I assume one of our seasonal 'visitors' dropped him off....they tend to do that when they come up here to the country to get rid of unwanted pets.....
he was obviously not wild otherwise he wouldn't have approached me at all.....poor little bugger
ow ow dang
lol yeah I know.....but he was just a half grown little booger....probably tried to pick him up too quick....I didn't mean to scare him like that....
Geeze amazing how little things like that can get in your head and bother you though...now I'll probably be up all night listening for the critters out back.....and running to the rescue hahaha
He was so cute...and clear eyed and obviously intelligent...I just scared him.
Hope the predators don't get him

, he may never adjust to that.Reply #8 Friday, July 2, 2004 7:58 AM
Yeah the odd part is....I know better than to try to pick up a strange animal....he sure had me conned!!! He was so cute....all rolling and happy and when I petted him he was all lovey dovey.... *sigh
Yeah...I know better... He caught a tendon in my forearm pretty good......I have a little bit of swelling locally but some loss of motion and it's pretty painful for such a small puncture....there's alot of bruising around the teethmarks but he only really went deep with one tooth by the looks of it. I'm keeping it cleaned out and using ice packs on it periodically to keep the swelling down. I've been bitten by dogs before...it feels about the same....just smaller lol.
I've heard of Cat Scratch Fever...it's nothing to mess with! The innocent sounding name doesn't come close to describing the sometimes dangerous results...like what you described webgizmos!
Anyway......on to another misadventure today.....I'll probably get stung trying to get more closeups of bumblebees

by me
I onced upon a 'kitty don't'
that purred and happy danced
he rolled he mewed he blinky eyed
he pounced and jumped and pranced
I petty pretty 'kitty don't'
he happied a bit more
then with wicked eye
and kitty cry
into my arm he tore
He lanced he slashed he scrappied
my poor arm to a shred
and so deeply were the toothy holes
they barely even bled
Of course poor kitty hurried off
worried for his crime
and crossed my mind a moment then
you'll be no 'bad kitty mine'!
At which time the crimson curtain
drained running from my hand
and I'm thinking idea to play with kitty
wasn't quite so grand
My arm swells painful red and hot
the bruises deep and sore
muscles and tendons sliced and torn
I use that arm for now no more
But still I wonder where kitty went
I worry that he's lost
I wondered how he came to here
from what car was kitty tossed
I might someday find kitty
out back in the darky wood
but I think I'll try a net next time
it might turn out better good
I don't blame little kitty
for the sorrows of my pain
I must have scared poor kitty cat
and this is mine own shame
Somehow the face of kitty's dance
is still before my eyes
I hope someday poor kitty finds
lots of butterflies
to chase and pounce and play again
to purr at happy chat
instead of turn such viscious biting
little 'fraidy bratty cat

I rescued "Baby" from the Engine, compartment of a brand, new Pontiac.
It was wedged in there so tight, I spent 2 hours taking parts off to get her out. All the while, doing this in a Gas Station, parking lot. The car belonged to the store manager, and she had driven in to work, forty miles. That poor little cat had been in there all through the drive and the afternoon. when I got her out, she ate me up, like a chainsaw, and I swear just like the Tom and Jerry cartoons, circled around my arm chomping the whole way. Needle sharp Teeth, punctured me full of holes, and turned my Thumb to hamburger. Once I started getting her out, she shot accross the parking lot, and into the undecarriage, of a pickup truck. I thought Oh, Crap! Here we, go again. But I got her out, and into a Cardboard box. I started wiping her down with cool, towels to get her temp, back to normal, and fed her vienna sausages, on the way home. She had a cold, for a couple of weeks, from the exsposure to the engine heat. Now she's one of my favorites.

Geeeeeeeeeee
we women are kinda like that from time to time aren't we???
(cue the angelic music and radiant halo)
My arm is sore as........well...you know.... It's starting to localize now in the worst of the bites.....the other ones have finally opened up and got the infection out with a little not so gentle coaxing....
nasty!!!...slowly but surely keeping poisoning at bay with alot of peroxide, isopropyle (ow!!! dang!!!
) and antibiotic cream and lots of ice...elevation...sheesh!
Last nite by flashlight tracked the little bugger a ways back in the woods....was fighting with my Lar.....not cool......and like I said.....not sure if I really want a spraying cat around the wild raspberries...geeze
this is NOT my idea of fun, man.......I'm not necessarily amused by having to dress seepy wounds 3 times a day...ack
ah well.....live......let live......and learn....

And when I had that "Catch Scratch Fever" it swelled up the lymph in both my elbows. That was why I initially went to the Doc, and the idiot first told me I sprained my arm. Until they did the blood tests. I had that for 3 weeks
and it was not fun at all.

o man webgizmos!!! I used to have a pet skunk named Sweety
That doesn't sound like any fun at all!! The scratches are already almost healed up...no problem with those...bites are finally doing better too....will just take a little time now..got the infection pretty much resolved

In my opinion, the only good snake is a dead snake!
