ok, now that I've got your attention, I need some photoshop help 
Photoshop 7 is acting up. It was working fine until I turned off the computer (flipped the power switch, terrible I know) and turned it back on. Now it loads up, loads all the plug-ins, begins to initialize, and then the loading screen goes away, and nothing happens. Theres no program in the task manager, and I'm left confused. Please help me! And microsoft doesn't suck.

| #11 by IPlural - 5/27/2004 9:44:20 AM delete the temp file that PS created upon it's last operation....it should reset it all back to defaults and you will have to change measurement back to pixel from inches and such, also add the location of your secondary plugins folder if needs be. Also the styles, pallets, custom shapes, brushes and the rest will need to be reset to how you like it and the layout. |

It'll be in C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp
*.pst I think... might be close or over a gig.

4. Re-create the Photoshop preferences file.
Photoshop stores information about plug-ins, features, and the application itself in its preferences file. Re-create the Photoshop preferences file to eliminate problems a damaged preferences file might cause.
To re-create the Photoshop preferences file:
1. Exit from Photoshop.
2. Locate the Adobe Photoshop [version] Prefs.psp file in the Winnt/Profiles/[user profile]/Application Data/Adobe/Photoshop/[version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings folder.
3. Rename the file (for example, to Adobe Photoshop [version] Prefs.old).
4. Start Photoshop. Photoshop creates a new preferences file.
If the problem continues, the preferences file isn't the cause. To restore custom settings, delete the new preferences file and restore the original name of the previous preferences file.
