This could be, like a support thread or something for everyone on WinC who wants to stop. I think that would be cool. We could help each other out, and keep up to date on success techniques and stuff.

My biggest success technique so far is vitamin C and grapefruit juice.

Good for you Kona! This habit is the hardest to kick and I know cause I'm still smoking(started when I was 14, 20+years ago) It's a fithy habit and very expensive(10.50 a pack!)nevermind coughing up a lung every morning! I wish you success BTW congrats on your promo

Kona, the first days are the hardest, this is because of the mental thing. Your nicotine level will only drop after a few days, keep that in mind, you don't really 'need' to smoke yet. In the beginning its just the habit.

That's great! I'd agree on the age thing too. My mom just can't quit because she smoked for about 30+ years.

That's true for almost anything. I had a very hard time starting to exercise, and being truly committed to being healthier have helped me very much. Looks like you're truly committed too, but keep on it!

Only thing that was easy for me on changing to healthier lifestyle were to change to water. I think it was because I was so sick of aftertaste on pop drinks.

Congrats on your decision! It's one of the best you'll ever make!

I haven't smoked a cigarette in over 6 years. I was a two pack-a-day smoker, but when my [then]5 year old asked how old he had to be before he could smoke, I knew it was time! Now I have more energy, stamina, and I don't always have to worry about how long 'til my next smoke

I recall the patches helped, but you have to want to not smoke more than you want to, if that makes sense.

Good luck, I know you can do it!

Actually I had a smoke today. Because I got so dizzy it was hard to read. I will continue to try. I must say I become a ass when I do not smoke.
