AstonShell?

What's the deal with AstonShell? And Why doesn't WC have a section for it? I heard that WC has no AquaDock section because it's a hack of YZDock, so is Aston illegitimate, too? It can do some neat stuff, though. Will someone please tell me about it, so I can decide if I want to keep it?

yeah, you´re right.
but such nonsense has also to be corrected, else somebody new to these things might actually believe what ChasUGC posted. they might even get scared when they install MS Office for the first time and the installer tells them they have to restart their computer to get Office running

I'm gonna lock this before it veers off even more toward the ego-flagging.
The short answer to the question Einstein Contemporary asked is pretty much down to popularity.
We try to only host sections for the most popularly used programs, as that justifies commiting resources, bandwidth etc, whereas supporting a less used/skinned program would essentially be wasting space on the server etc, for a section people wouldn't use as much.

see ... this is why i said that your knowledge on these things would be rather limited.
first of all neither LS nor Aston do modify Windows system files. that´s a fact. as you are "perfectly aware of what it does and does not do", please tell me which system files it modifies.
what´s that about a program being a hack when you have to reboot your computer to get it running? that´s bull*hit. you have to do this for many programs. last time for me was the latest ZoneAlarm update.
what both LS and Aston do is making entries into the registry. so does Windowblinds. and pretty much any program.
how comes i was offended of that? it just had to be made clear for anybody reading this thread that you are not in any position to speak officially for Stardock or Wincustomize.
btw: i never insulted your intelligence. just because somebody is computer illiterate does not mean he would be unintelligent. heck, i know doctors that can´t use their dvd players.
