Aqua Dock VS ObjectDock

Thursday, April 15, 2004 by connor_roberts | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Aqua Dock is a superior program for three main reasons:

1 - You can not only add .png and .ico and any of the same things ObjectDock can add, but you can also import old YZ Docklets to your bar also.

2 - Aqua Dock does not use GDI, but rather DirectX which is seamless with Microsoft, and therefore Aqua Dock is flawlessly smooth and crystal clear. Object dock will become grainy if you wich to zoom in more, and will hang for a second when moving the mouse fast along the bar. Object Desktop will also sometimes use 99% of your proccessor, while Aqua Dock uses 5% at it's most busy moment

3 - Aqua Dock is not only more user-friendly with the interface setup, but was made 2 years ago, and has been perfected with the new 1.0 release march 24, 2004. You can see screenshots and download it here > http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/13/9/13-9-204.shtml

Enjoy!

oh my gosh Jafo...we can get into that discussion if you want, about how if we didnt have that kind proprietary stuff that we would be about 20 years ahead of where we are now with computer technology, but we won't get into it, because the bottom line is that proprietary companies just want money...it boils down to that simple statement. If you want a mac you PAY Apple. if you want a PC you pay whoever you want. Why do you think business and 99% of the companies in the world use PCs? More support, more felxibility, and you wouldnt be on this site if you used a Mac

no, i didnt forget that post...i stated a fact that it isnt good enough to be charged for. bashing would be saying something like "OD sucks, dont use it, it is horrible!!!" but i didnt...in all my posts i have said "use whatever you want" or "they are both free, try them both" something to that extent

I just tried Aqua Dock. Except for a few different things it looks excactly like Yz Dock...no wonder why it can use Yz Docklets...seems like someone's kept programming where Y'z left off. Just my immediate thought, I could be wrong. It could be a dock immitating Yz, that imitated the one in OSX.

But no it doesn't run smoother. When I point my cursor over an icon and move the cursor away I'd expect the icon to down again in the dock, but it doesn't it just hangs there

Nothing I'd waste another minute with.

the difference between people in real life, and people on the internet is that people on the internet seem to be looking for a reason to get pissed off about something, when in fact all that happened here was that I introduced a new program and everyone went haywire...that is immature and ridiculous

I do not care what your opinion is or is not about Apple or copyrights, etc...but when it recommends the ripping of a product it oversteps an accepted line on this site.

Take such comment elsewhere...Kazaa would be good...or Astalavista.

it hangs there cause you arent using TweakXP are you? X-mouse activation? lol...come on people...get the right software and make the right settings for your OS, then talk to me about things screwing up. Aqua Dock works fine, you haven't customized your system, just your interface, that is yur problem...People want the "look" without having to do the real customizing, behind the windows scene in the registry, etc...
