SKIN RIP ??

Tuesday, February 17, 2004 by Michael Brandt | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Where goes the fine line for a skin to be a rip??

The WB Skin "Pearlblue" is basically a recolored version of my own "M3 Blueglass" skin. 9 out of 10 elements i have made. And I am mentioned nowhere.

What do u think ???

i tried that last time i was ripped here. took four days, which is pretty much a record among all sites.

Excuse me, but it took 2 days, because you caught me at a very busy time with real life. 2 days, not 4.

.......

btw........ you had said the day before, in your thread on a similar matter, that you were in no hurry, as long as it was taken care of. Seems you meant you were in no hurry, as long as you are thumping your chest in public, but please jump through hoops when handled privately......

Jafo: so you looked "one hell of a lot" longer at the images. i wonder why as the images are the same, except for hue and saturation. what you stated is that they both might be derived from a third source. could be, maybe one day in the future somebody might ask you to examine Michael´s skin ... who knows. the evidence for PearlBlue being a rip is there though, be it a rip of Michael´s skin or of some mystery third skin. i don´t get what´s so complicated about that?

bringing a rip to public is faster than the Cheka way. at least in the few (thumbs up) cases i have been ripped here that was true. if a rip is the top download on the site that claims to have most travel of all skin sites then fast action is required, no matter wether it rips you, Michael Brandt, Pixtudio or some mystery third skin.

this is my opinion and i am used to speak my mind. it never was my intention to insult you. if you feel insulted though, there´s not much i can do about that.

Moshi, keep silent otherwise, you will regret (not a threat, suggestion)

MadPyro goes back to mind his own business befoe jafo notices.

Except apologise...[of course]....but that'd be out of character...

No need to flog a dead horse....this situation was handled appropriately.

End of story.

Koasati: the rips of my stuff weren´t in the top downloads and also were up at your site for quite a while. that´s why fast action wasn´t required. i just looked at the mails: it took longer than 2 days. when i got your mail that stated "pulled from public view" they were still there (clear browser cache, don´t worry).

You had the direct links to them, so yes you could probably still view them, they were not visible to anyone browsing the library.

Hmm, most of the WB skins are rips from luna. Something to think about before complaining. Maybe the author should have emailed the creator who he borrowed the images from. Especially if he used a lot of them.
