BootSkin problem not covered?

Not that I came across anyway...
Problem is: BootSkin (WAS) installed. Ran it. Looked at the list but CHANGED NOTHING! Rebooted. Everything is fine until it gets to the place where the new boot screen would be. After a few seconds it starts over again, meaning, as if I'd pressed reset. Loops like this indefinately. Reboot to boot screen, reboot to boot screen, reboot to boot screen.

Did you apply any of the default skins, or just run the program and reboot?

Option 2. Ran (, closed) and rebooted
Had to do the "Last good configuration" or whatever it's called. Tried it with version .xx and again with 1.? Same thing

Good grief! He has said 3 times, he changed nothing, as in, didn't apply any of the skins in the list....

Possible new bug there, will speak to the creator of Bootskin 
To avoid the problem in future, make sure you select one of the skins in the list and click the "Apply" button

Thank you Koasati. I was soooo close to start yelling (What part of CHANGED NOTHING don't you understand??????) but thought no, keep it mellow. Maybe Stumpy's just being a bit slow today. hehehe

So, you did apply a skin? Open BootSkin and select Default System Boot Screen,
and Apply..... see what happens....
But you're stuck in a reboot cycle, I guess you can't. Can you get to Safe Mode?

If you Applied a skin the first time, then it's still applied if you did nothing the 2nd time. You're not being very clear.
My appologies to Stumpy ......... seems maybe you were on to something after all.

First of all, you cannot install Bootskin and do nothing. It's possible you wacked the .INI file when you re-booted. If that's the case then you need to un-install, re-boot and re-install. Having said that, whenever you install the proggie or import a new skin, you must close it without picking anything (doing nothing) and re-open thru the start menu....now pick your skin and apply it (it will show as active) and it should work fine....

When did you get the BootSkin build in question? We have refreshed things to 1.01 this week (http://storage.stardock.com/files/bootskin_free.exe) to account for some oddities with various chipsets while loading. But we also put some additional effort into having it safely fall over if there was a problem.
What's your hardware configuration? Particularly, video card and motherboard.
