LiteStep Help
Thursday, February 5, 2004 by HG_Eliminator | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
First before you install litestep remember to read all the documentation you can. litestep.com is a good start. Second if u install litestep and then want to remove litestep, set the shell back to explorer FIRST....then uninstall litestep...if you dont set explorer back as the shell before uninstall litestep u will have NO visible desktop on restart....in the litestep folder look for a "set shell to explorer" icon use this to set shell back to the windows default desktop. then reboot and uninstall litestep....
here is where u can get more documentation as well as the latest build. http://beyondconvention.net/ohussain/lsinstaller/index.htm i recommend useing the latest build as they are the most stable..

I'm currently using the PixOffice theme in litestep and its great. Looks very nice, runs well, no problems, except a tiny matter. I don't know how to create shortcuts on the desktop. I use BT broadband, and would like to put a shortcut to that on my desktop, as well as some of my games and there isn't a shortcut to my computer , my documents and the recycle bin. could anybody let me know how to create these shortcuts on the desktop please? Thank you very much for any help you can provide.
Mike!

or just press the WIN key.
CTRL+ALT+F1 will also give you plenty of options.
of course that´s all in the docs.

Hello all, I hope someone can help me.
I have windows Vista, I installed Litestep, and I think it's horrible. I want to send the shell back to explorer, but every time I click on that application, it tells me acces is denied. Then, I press ok on that error, then it tells me that "Lua: error while running chunk."
I just want to use my computer like I did before. It's running horribly, no one seems to be able to help me, and I think litestep is a piece. Please, help me.

You should get hold of a shell-changer.
As long as LS is 'active' you cannot run Explorer.

PS.: LS is evil ![]()

Have you tried a restore point? setting the PC back to where it was before You installed LS?
Looks like the switcher is installed Snow ,but he does not have access to run it.
Brian if you know how to take ownership of the Switcher, try that and see if it will grant you access to running it. you should be able to find it in the LiteStep folder.
If not the Easy way would be to right clik on the LiteStep folder,Properties, security tab, advanced botton at bottom, Owner tab,Edit button on bottom, Highlight the User name you are using in the change owner: box, make sure the replace owner on subcontainers and objects box is selected at bottom then press apply. close all the windows after it changes ownership of the files and then go in to the LS folder and try the Explorer switcher again. Please Post back if it works or not.
