facts:

1. Macs cost more than PCs.

2. The same tasks that can be done on a Mac can be done on a PC.

3. There is more software available for PCs than there is for Macs.

Damnit tech, it depends on what you need for a computer to do. Macs do graphics better and have for along time. A majority of movies are made on Macs, and as far as the software thing, PC's might have more but there are alot of decent titles for Macs.

List some applications for Mac that are either not available for Windows or no Windows equivalent exists.

I don't know about that. Both Macs and PCs use nVidia and ATI graphic cards. Both have a version of Photoshop which performs the same tasks on each. I don't really see where the difference lies.

no tech I am not talking about nvidia or ATI or hardware.

I was trying to point out that by it's nature, OS X is better at graphic programs and graphics handling.

just by the way the system handles animation and grapics as in Photoshop.

And a point to add is although it has quirks, OS X is a little bit more stable because it being a UNIX based OS.

but I will always like XP better. I grew up on windows.

kongit is about to get out the cannon and started blasting tech and kona into oblivion. well at least far enough away so he can't hear them.

kona0197 decides this is getting boring so leaves to contact his aircraft carrier in case travis decides to be foolish enough to attack him.

Can you give me the technically details for this? As far as stability goes, XP is just as stable as OS X. Both can end up crashing due to user error. Look at the uptime in my desktop screenshot on my profile and don't try to claim I somehow doctored the screenshot.

I'm just trying to have an intellectual discussion here. kona claims that OS X is somehow graphically better than XP. All I am asking for is technical information that proves that statement. That statement alone may only be an opinion and maybe XP and OS X are each just as capable of doing graphics.

I understand that you are trying to have an intellectual discussion.

the key word there is try.

Now about how osx is better graphically them xp. I don't know. But there might be an illusion of that since a large percentage of mac users are "graphically" inclined. If there is a difference it is small.

You can't justify something like "graphically better" with technical information. "graphically better" is an opinion and isn't a figure set in stone.

I do think the whole which platform does graphics better is a matter of opinion. There are artists here that have made amazing looking skins using Windows PCs. It seems to me there really is no difference in the quality of work that can be produced on both platforms.

NO No No...

I was trying to point out that the processor and hardware setup of a mac handles graphic better and animation for movies better than a PC.

we are all guilty of what Frogboy writes, but your post up above was extremely unnecessary.

No, Travis, I disagree stronly. What I said was extremely needed.

Both Macs and PCs use the same graphic cards basically. The big difference between PC and Mac is the processors. Intel and AMD function differently than the Power PC processor. I am not sure if there is a difference in performance however. I know that XBOX 2 will be running on a Power PC rather than a Pentium. Which ever chip is better is not the factor in that decision, but goal of making XBOX 2 impossible to hack into and use as a PC using Linux. I believe they only want end users using their XBOXs for gaming because Microsoft loses money when you buy an XBOX. They cost more to make than the price they are selling them at. It is their hope to sell enough games to cover the manufacturing costs. Sorry about this going a bit off topic here, but my point was: what is the difference between Pentium/Athlon and Power PC?

You should listen to Travis. Your statements got pretty close to the line that seperates an argument from a personal attack if in fact your statements don't cross that line.
