Oxidizer blown across the Paraffin with resulting gases ignited reaches the closest thrust as the solids used now for the Space Shuttle... Close enough to actually do heavy lifts and it can be a controlled burn by muzzling the Oxidizer....
Then when someone says to "Light this Candle" that is exactly what they will be doing

I believe in the NASA. I don't believe in wasting money going to the moon. I think they should be trying to figure out how to get our ships to fly faster not make a return trip to a dusty rock.

and exactly how would this work to get things into outer space. I guess it could levitate things and slowly bring them up. I think the most promising technology to getting things into space is the slingshot stuff. gigantic rail guns and stuff. and more stuff. and some beans. and a couple of tums to reduce the aftershock.
