Running another abandoned thread off topic
There seem to be a lot of them lately. People ask a question or actually it's more like "AKS DA QWEZSHUN" and then they're gone 'poof'. What happens? Do the caps-locked bad-grammer AOL'er police come along and vaporize them?

| 21 by #¼Crazy Travis ™ - 1/1/2004 4:28:49 PM I can't use wep with my wireless router and card. It doesn't work for some reason. So I set my router to only detect my computer. Unless somebody has stolen my computers identity I am set from people stealing my bandwith. |
Without some form of encryption, anyone within "earshot" of your wireless network can capture your traffic and see what your MAC address is, and then spoof it. So the fact that you have it "locked down" to your MAC doesn't really protect you all that much.
I am not as concerned about someone stealing my bandwidth as I am someone getting into my network and posing as me. I sure don't want the authorities coming after me, thinking I did something illegal, just to find out that a hacker got into my system and did something illegal, because I didn't plug ALL of the holes that I could.

connecting to the network. ZoneAlarm is particularly evil....... I really
hate ZoneAlarm. We get more tech support from ZoneAlarm users than all
other firewalls combined.
