There are many regular posters here at the messageboard. At some other sites acknowledgement is given to those based on their number of posts. I don't completely think that an idea like that would carry over correctly here, but I'd like to see something of that nature implemented. Perhaps a new title for those like kona, xaltec or I who frequent the forums, but have not attained the apprentice status. We might not be as helpful as say Yrag or are rooted here like WOM, but we try.
I wouldn't mind except all of the normal titles for a citizen just don't look good with my nick and I'd like to have something in front of my name to make me feel special. I have strange needs.
ps I know I haven't been here as long as a lot of you guys, but I like it here and intend to stay.
Some suggestions are:
"Idiot","Troll","Wincustomite","Boarder","Regular","Killer","Dawg", "Gorilla","Clown","Ugly",...you get the idea, just something to spice up my life.

In order to feel special and have a special title you have to do something special. It is something for you to aim for. A person's position in the community reflects their contribution to the same. So, your title is down to you...

If you stick arround on the msgboard long enough and help people by answering questions you will be rewarded with some titles and you become a master apprentice... ofcourse this is a lot easier to get with skinning.

Whats in a title? A lot of people have one but don't use it. I use mine because I've had one for most of my life and am used to it.
WOM doesn't think anymore back patting is needed.
You could be the #1 poster every day and not really have helped anyone. It would take a lot of people to go through the MSGBD to filter the posts to see who really helped and who just talked.

I tried to be just 'Jafo'....but I didn't get the disrespect deserving of an admin that way so had to add the prefix....
Sadly, 'Power-hungry zealot' wasn't listed as an option, and some woman already had the title 'God', my wife has laid claim to 'Boss', which leaves me up the proverbial without a paddle...
Even 'Just Jafo' is no good, as the 'just' is redundant.....
'Dude' is a wee bit too 'American'....perhaps 'Old Bastard'....that has an Aussie ring to it....

I contribute to the message boards when I can, but am not literate in how to create skins and things,so I would never reach apprentice level without purchase(which might still happen in 2004)I think however that the paid subscribers should not be listed as apprentice which suggests skills some subscribers will never have (like me).
I really don't want a title, but would love to get rid of the "citizen" tag. It smacks of "Animal Farm" and I keep waiting to hear the word "comrade" used.

Well I'll be dipped! scratch the last half of my post! just found out I can be plain ol wulfn1!! boy am I glad to get rid of that misnomer in front of my nick! (wulfie smacks her forehead at her blatant lack of knowledge... DUH!)

I like your idea. After all I am here EVERY day and try to help out as much as I can.
I do not help out on the help or skinning msg boards because I have a hard enough time keeping track of this one.
Well I can not really complain. Soon to be a level 4 user and I have some uploads under my belt and I have been here almost a year. And I get respect all the time
Thanks Travis for metioning me again.
Now I am off to bed for real.
