Windows XP Luna Source File Rips

Friday, July 14, 2023 by OriginalGamer | Discussion: Skinning

Hey there,

I want to make a "modern" version of the Luna theme. I will use image editing software or AI tools to create higher-resolution assets.

I already tried scraping a Windows XP virtual machine for image files. (Wishful thinking haha)
I also used dotPeek to look into the dll's for the lune theme file. I could not find a reference to all that blue'ey goodness 😅

I have scoured the internet for an asset library. Feeling like I am out of options.

Last-ditch effort would be to copy the files from WindowBlinds Luna theme, but I was kinda hoping to find assets with a betta base resolution to work with.

Has anyone got any advice?

Hello,
If you browse Windowblinds library on Wincustomize.com. You should be able to find lots of Luna looking Theme asset. https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/search/Luna. If you want to use those theme asset it is best to get permission from those themes creators.

Thanks

Ok cheers, I might start there. The reason I want to do my own theme is I want bigger title bar windows so there is some continuity between apps that can't use the theme. As Windows 11 title bar height is 32px, and all Luna themes are currently putting out 28px. Its subtle but makes a difference.
