Nvidia all the way for me and has been for many years, But i have just bought the wife a brand New Ryzen I5 Laptop, and it is a good bit of kit for a Laptop, Never really thought of a Laptop to be Powerful before, As i have always been a Desktop Computer Person.
I agree, with tech advancement now a days it does seem that the laptop is advancing at a faster pace then the desktop. Chips are getting smaller, taking less power, and giving off less heat which means you can put chips into laptops that are closer to what a desktop has. Right now the gap between mid range pc's and laptops is pretty small and closer more every year.

Seems the wife is more than happy with her Ryzen Laptop, a lot of power for a very wafer thin unit. Also updated my Extras on my Desktop. New Jelly Comb Keyboard, very well put together and glows either Blue, Green or Purple (as i work nights in my bedroom), and a T Wolf Illuminated Mouse. Off into Town tomorrow to spend some of my fathers Day money, maybe some bigger SSDs.

New toys are always fun. And we can always use more ssd space.
My next upgrade is going to be ram. It looks like we are in the middle of the next ram revolution and 32 gigs is the new 16. It is even rumored that Windows 12 minimum ram usage may go from 4gigs to running 8 gigs which will make having 16 gigs suddenly a pain. At least ram is cheap right now.

We think the very same way mate, only yesterday i was told i will have an Amazon £120 gift voucher on its way, i thought i could use it to double my Ram to 32 gigs, and why not hey bud.
Seen a few new IT Toys in town today, but due to unforeseen issues, i had to come away empty handed, but the money is going nowhere as there are always other days.
