at the guy with the hard to type name : thanks

BTW, I was thinking of making an app like this to add sounds to every window / control. For example, when hoovering over a button, a sound could be played. Before starting to code it, I would really like some comments / suggestions on it Anyone?

I dunno if that would be worth it. It seems that it is sometimes hard to find high quality sound files online. I'm not sure what the benefits would be, besides just another cool thing to customize. I would probably use it to a limited degree if you did make one. I think its similar to BootSkins. People dont see the point but they use it anyways.

Well, coding it isn't that hard, because I already have the basics with the current Dock Sounder.

You are right about the high-quality sounds, couldn't find some good ones myself, but hey, what about MP3 support?

Useless things are most of the time the coolest

mp3 support is great,I have several really cool mp3 sound effects, and they are not too hard to make.Game cd's are another good source of sound files.

I used the THX sound for dock activation and thunder for the icon click.Very dramatic! .How do I set it to load at boot?

.Andreas I have a new idea for you, dont know if its possible,...I would like to make the dock transparent until activated(see thru),possibly be able to set transparency level and duration of fade in and out. This is probably something for Stardock to add but wouldnt that be cool.

.Your too cool(and fast)

Hey, guys... I was wondering isn't there a proggy called Sound Edit that helps you edit sounds?

Also, aren't there some proggies that make sounds for you?

I was personally looking at some DJ stuff to make some party mix tapes for myself and to do some sond production on the side. If I get it I would be more than happy to make some sounds to put into some of the skins here!

But that's a long way off; maybe citezen DJ has some stuff we can use.

UPDATE:

http://home.hccnet.nl/averhoev.2/DOCKSOUNDER.zip

version 1.3:
-> Added MP3 support (it supports virtually any type of audio/video file, even AVI's )
-> Made it a bit faster by changing the mousehook.dll structure.

Enjoy.

Tell me something more (what's activated for example?). I think it would be possible, my only concern is the GDI+ drawing thingies (the Dock is not a regular window).
