Been Beta testing Office2003 and most HTML email tends to be almost unreadable. Outlook blocks all external images by default in an attempt to correct terrible virus\privacy problems in the past. You end up with oddly placed text around large boxes of empty space.
I don't mind since most of my mail that is real lacks images anyway.
I do think it is funny that it almost forces you back to the old fashioned way (plain text) that MS poohooed waaay back when they created the evil rich text format. They deserve all blame for viruses they get in Outlook. I doubt anything has spawned as many helpdesk calls/problems as RTF, "Why can't I see/open this attachment?"

Well that is really odd, I've Office 2003 Professional installed on five systems and Outlook does not block the first img and I've not had one issue displaying HTML format email either.
I also do not have any problems with attachments...

So - basically - Outlook 2003 is doing what most third party mail programs have already been doing? Blocking external images, etc.
Personally, I've always just used HTML format for email for easier formatting and better flow of my text anyway.

no, Office Pro includes Outlook in every version including 2003...
As I said, I have it installed an no problem, who knows maybe Microsoft got the bug out their butt about it.
Though the only reason I even consider using HTML format is the 1.5 mbit DSL connection...
far as imagines and attachments go, that is a security feature you can either turn on or off as you like.
