optical mouse?

Then I suppose I'll just keep my mouse plugged into PS/2 to maximize the number of open USB ports.

My logitech optical mouse works great in every way. And the only reason my batteries run down is because I spend way to much time on this thing.

I use a M$ browser mouse with USB, No problems and I love it....Only crappy gamers whine about it..And they blame everything else but themselves when the lose or die.,,,,,

i got me a cheapo ge optical usb mouse. It works great and i have no problems playing games, like wolfenstein enemy territory, or tiger woods 2004.

Some people have not, nor ever will have, any idea of the skill level of a hardcore gamer. Some equipment everyone thinks is great just doesn't cut it. Like crappy ATI graphics etc...

In tests. I'm talking about actual gameplay, something which seems lost on most manufacturers. They like to concentrate on fps and triangles per second etc rather than actual fragging. Fot UT/UT2003 Nvidia is undisputed. If I were to play QuakeIII (which I don't) then that would be a different story - Q3 doesn't like Nvidia drivers...

I was working at Jabil Circuit and the network would always drop to it's knee's
every afternoon starting at 12:30 - 3:00 or 4:30 almost everyday. This went on for
almost two weeks solid and the WAN dept could not figure it out and blamed it on
the LAN dept (which I was working with at the time) so we were getting some heat
for Corporate. Anyway, we went out on the production floors and checked the co-ax
for any rubbed off insulation and stuff. Then we checked the server closet and
traced drop thought to maybe causing noise and such. So after my boss got her butt
chewed on in a meeting she came down to chew on our butts for not figuring the
problem out and I pop off with "Well all of you are going to feel stupid as hell if
it turned out to be a freaking Quake Death match." No one said a word and we all just
kind of smiled, we had a sniffer and lanalyzer on the network the next afternoon.
The guys from the WAN dept got all twitchy and complaining right away that we could
not hook up in their server room. It was push and we found a few interesting things.
CEO and his closest buddies VP's and such all had Apache Strike on their systems which
some if not all would be playing starting at lunch time. On the WAN there was some
death match's being played with people in Scotland, Florida, Georgia and Texas and now
and then Far East...
hell we got more flack when we deleted games after that then when the network would
puke all over itself

I've used one on my hand.. shirt.. wall... carpet.. cat...desk.. face... just to see it work....... heh.. i'm easily amused ... it worked from 10 ft away =D .. I was quite shocked... oh btw.. i have the Logitech Cordless / Rechargable one.. that's silver and black.. and it comes with a little recharger stand... i can't remember the model #... its groovey though I highly recommend it. As far as it skipping.. i haven't had that problem unless im realllly reallllllly multi-tasking, and boggin' down the comp. but that's not really the mouse's fault eh? Oh! just found Model... Mx700 GET ONE! its a great investment

not any gain really, other than USB doing multipule devices.
That and if your USB is on the front it is easier to get at if you have to unplug for any reason.
