Neil's team is working on it daily while still maintaining updates for Start11 as needed.
I talked with Brad Sams (VP of Software) yesterday about pinging the community (that's you all btw😉)for new skins as we get something we would like to show off. That is not imminent but on the radar.
Thanks for the continued interest and support.

as long as i plug all the wholes and share that info with others is all we can do.
I'm sure many members would appreciate hearing about those plugs.
It is no big secret Doc, i have always told you and others, MS pushes something on us, and others Push Back. Windows 11 being a Data stealing Entity created a whole side line for Software developers, they pushed back by creating numerous programs to help even basic users achieve this.
Think After Windows 7 when the Start Menu Changed, peeps did not like the direction MS was going in, so multiple software creators helped the user Bring back a Start menu , making there Windows look and feel just how they wanted, even Stardock jumped in that Band Wagon with Start 10 and 11, so you must see why huge changes do not bother me, as others will find a way to negate the changes MS try to push on us
"DoNotSpy11"
"Optimizer"
"SophiApp"
"O&O ShutUp10" Not being rude, that is what it's called
"Privatezilla"
"W10/11Privacy"
"Gilisoft Privacy Protector"
"WPD"
These are just a few of the top of my Head, almost all of the above will make both Win 10 and 11 more Data Friendly for the end user and not MS, there are so many more.
Surely i am not the first to list this kind of Program, we have talked about MS stealing our Data for ages now. I see more and more of this kind OS program almost daily, hope that helps you Doc and anyone else who is interested in using Win11 in a better safer way.
I am Sure Doc you did not want me to list all those setting changes individually when they come in nice little packages like above.

And it 'helped' even more paranoid users to destroy their OS and even not being able to get updates any more. Helped plenty of them already.

The funny part here that I believe is widely overlooked is that software the protects your privacy on Windows 10 also protects your privacy on Windows 11. What this really means is that Windows 11 is no worse then Windows 10. This goes against the notion that MS is getting worse with this era.

Hey guys... Thread subject Please.
Reply 26 looks like a good answer to your question to me. It sounds like Neils team will put some work into it every day and eventually we will have a product with even more answers. I am looking forward to seeing some of the upcoming skins in action

Then along came Windows 10 and everyone is required to put up with betas...even with the OS itself.
I have used Windows previews since Windows 95.
Carl...yes, so have I...but there's a difference between knowingly using a beta [just like OD] and not having an option because MS changed the system so that every general user had the Beta...![]()

my cognition of Reply 26 windows 11 22H2 release October, 2023 could SD possibly finishing Windowblinds 11 in the first half year, 2023 this was no typo
I believe 22h2 is now feature complete and has been since they removed the watermark this month. This is why / how Windowblinds 11 is in FULL development.

Sorry, but no. 1) The account sign on rubbish. 2) Its deals with Duckduckgo and red China.
MS's 'nogoodery' is demonstrably, therefore, on many levels.
The logic of 'the software plugging 10's holes works for 11, therefore there are no additional holes to plug' ("What this really means is that Windows 11 is no worse then Windows 10") is invalid.

I'm still waiting for curtains because it does not interfere so deeply in the system.
Neither WB nor Curtains interfere with the computer at all. I never had pronlems with SD's software until I deleted Windows.old folder to reclaim space on my drive.

"DoNotSpy11" + "O&O ShutUp10" can be used relatively safely when you select the safe settings
warning ! everything else only if you know what you are doing "Optimizer" "SophiApp" "Privatezilla" "Gilisoft Privacy Protector" "WPD" if you set the wrong values you can get problems or make windows unusable
I have always said many times, a user should only use system changing software(or any other for that matter) with caution. Lots of software can go wrong if a user does not understand what they are using and how it will affect them, That always has to be a Given.
There are so many more Progs to do this kind of thing, just look for yourselves and see.
Really hope the Oven is not too Hot, really interesting to see what comes out of the Oven.

because WB10 goes deep into the system unlike curtains is trying to change all aspects of the GUI
WB is a program which applies images to many aspects of the GUI. Period. It doesn't alter system files. It doesn't gather information on you or your data. It's a program which applies file types:
The following is a list of common file types used by WindowBlinds:
- .SSS - are substyles, slightly different versions of the skin.
- .UIS - is an INI type text file with instructions for WindowBlinds on how to handle the substyle. See www.WindowBlinds.net for information on the UIS Language.
- .WBA - is a compressed ZIP file containing a skin downloaded from the internet. It includes all of the files that make up a skin (i.e. SSS, UIS, BMP, TGA, JPG).
- .ZIP - of a skin downloaded from the internet, and may contain all of the above plus other files (i.e. BMP, TGA, JPG).
And what does "deep into the system" even mean? It's a program. It runs like other programs.
Curtains is simply another program. It works on the features MS's light and dark mode work on - Start button, and many other small features, and makes it easy for people to be creative and make their own styles and enter the world of skinning.
Both programs run simply as programs. No "depth" difference, no file changes, no spying.

please times not so agro, if i should not say my opinion then make the forum only for people who are of the same opinion as you.
You're free to express yourself, but try to be accurate. It looked as if you were concerned that WB was doing something to your system, somehow. I was trying to correct the impression/misunderstanding you seemed to be laboring under.

Some features could still be added until the official release. Microsoft is no longer so particular about when which features are integrated into the system or even backported. WB11 never this year, unfortunately I'm still waiting for curtains because it does not interfere so deeply in the system.
As is always the case. But still with 22H2 entering the stage of "feature complete" this usually means that the software is done adding features and is now entering a new stage of bug squashing. The Dev channel and Beta channel have also been separated which gives Microsoft a whole new piece of software that is not "feature complete" to add new features for next years big annual update. Realistically we may even see 22H2 enter "release preview" by next month or July. This late in development it is highly unlikely we will see anything new in 22H2. But we can still discuss the actual holdup of Windowblinds 11 in more depth anyways.
The reason Windowblinds 11 has taken a while to be started is due to the tablet friendly taskbar that was in development on the dev/beta channel for months. This taskbar broke things like transparency, blur, and even texturing. So that is the particular area that was holding up development. That taskbar was scraped completely on the "feature complete" version of 22H2 paving the way for Windowblinds 11 to finally begin. But there is even more to this story, by the time the taskbar was scrapped Neil actually hinted that he solved all the issues that the "tablet friendly taskbar" was causing. This means that even if the taskbar does resurface all it will take is a flip of the switch and there will be no delays to the development of Windowblinds 11.
The path for Windowblinds 11 is pretty open now, I bet it is released about the same time 22H2 drops.

My hope would be better Start* integration. WB10 currently only works with the w7 mode. I have grown pretty fond of its W11 mode with multiple pages etc... and would like to see that mode skinnable.

yes, there are probably millions of users who see no issues with Windows 11. There will also be millions of users who actually do have problems but are blissfully ignorant of the fact.
And there are millions of users who know the OS is not yet baked for consumption.
Not forgetting the users who understand what is going on with Windows11, who take steps to make the OS as safe as possible, then use it and like it. I have made no secret of Liking Win 11 Enterprise, as long as i plug all the wholes and share that info with others is all we can do.
Lets hope what is in the oven is the best bit of Baking we have ever tasted as a lot of us are Hank Marvin (Starvin), Scouse for really Hungry.
