I think Shmoopy was just teasin ya Kona.

As for "stupid" threads, I thought this general discussion board was the place for them. That's why I hang out here.

edited to add that Shmoopy is much faster on the draw than I am as she replied while I was still typing.

Yes, I have chronic ADD. Hard to control without meds and since I have no health plan, I have not had my prozac for over a year

If you are an adult with ADD, you probably don't need medication like prozac (which is really more of a psychiatric drug). Sure you may have mood swings; feel depressed. Thing is you want to treat the cause and not the symptom. The last thing you need is some psychiatrist making drug stew in your brain. Something like prozac may seem to help in that they keep you on a level course, keep the symptoms contained. The goal, no matter your age, should be more than that.

Medications specific to ADD would be better for you. You would notice marked improvement in concentration which leads to more success... on the job and in your personal life. That is what will improve your mood-swing problem. A little success in your life. Also, it improves your working memory so that you can build your life one event, one class, one learning experience upon another. Not to mention that it minimizes compulsivity.

Recently some of the medications *magnesium pemoline, for one* have come out from patented status and generics are available. You just have to find a doctor knowledgeable enough to believe in Adult ADD. Also, third and fourth generation medications are coming on the market that are really quiet remarkable.

It may seem like a lot to afford, but consider this... It can quite literally turn your life around and give you a real future. There are clinics in most cites that will offer free medical treatment.

I agree with #55 from BoXXi...Just read this whole thread, and been on this board for the last couple of weeks again, and Kona hasn't been an annoyance to me in any thread that I have read. Some do have bad starts on the board, I had too, as I am sure many had that experience. There also is a tendency to keep picking on people once they have a certain "status". That doesn't help really. New law: Stop making fun of people. Sub 1 A: Sanction is a month ban from all message boards. Sub 1 A1: Submitting one skin that gets a 7 or higher will lift the ban.

diet can also play a huge part in keeping things on an even line, and sleep

Prozac is a farce, it's a wonder drug do all swiss army knife of pharm residual profits.

Kind of like Paxil was for the longest time which was another bust on the do anything for real margin.

Speed works in reverse and Ritilan is nothing but speed renamed with a couple of things changed in the chemistry of it, speed all the same....

Driven to Distraction is a good book to read because it has different tools you can make use of and breaks things down in a manner which is easy to follow and it also explains what you can expect to some extent and what to do when you run into it.

Your wife might consider reading a few books on what *she* can do to help and what she should expect *you* to do for yourself, while also lending osme ideas on how to train yourself to follow through and up on things.

It is good to hear you've stuck with that specific job
Though don't forget it isn't you goal but one of many present and future rides to the final destination (even though that might change many times before you actually get there)

Kona, a lot of the time, I have to give myself a number of moments before hitting submit so I can read and re-read a post and even then I have to stop and look at it side ways to make sure I am not being a cause of trouble with or for others

anyway... be safe and breath... smile to it helps !

I can never understand all the antagonism you guys throw at Kona, personally I have never had a problem with any of his posts. Maybe it's just me? I sincerely believe he is trying hard to fit in here, and he's not doing a bad job as far as I can see. So, as a moderator on this site, I am asking you all to cut him some slack. There are, and have been in the past, much more annoying people on this board. And I have read many more inane threads than this one.So having said that, there ought to be a law force people to give others a second chance.

Karmagirl: read and understand what Boxxi said. This is in reply to what you posted in the Marathon thread.

Again, Thank you BoXXi.

Kona....BoXXi isn't on this board as often as some....hence his not 'having a problem'....however those who are here often are witness to numerous rash statements followed by retractions and many conflicting views which change with the season....from OS preference to just about any subject imaginable.

Hint....adopt an opinion and stick to it.....research uncertainties so input can be cogent...don't try so hard to 'fit in'...and ideally avoid crossing swords with those responsible for the smooth running of the site....and all will be well...

don't try so hard to 'fit in'

I think that is my biggest problem.

BTW I have put my sword away.

Thanks.

Karmagirl: read and understand what Boxxi said. This is in reply to what you posted in the Marathon thread.

What BoXXi said is his opinion.  I don't have to agree with it.  If you saying that the moderators would reject a submission from you simply because it was from you doesn't bother him, or that you tell people to "get a life" and "grow up" isn't something he objects to, then that is his opinion - but I don't agree.  There are many *many* things that you have said that should not be tolerated, but they are and you repeatedly say "sorry" for them but you never change the behavior.

You need to also keep some things in perspective here: 1) Not all the admins pay attention to the boards as much as Jafo, Paxx and I do.  2) I work for Stardock.  Why does that matter?  Because I have a bit more at stake than the other moderators.  I have worked at Stardock for a very long time, I am part of the management team, and I would hate to think that new customers or site contributors do not post to this site because of some of the unnecessary and objectionable posts that are made here.  If you don't like my opinion, maybe you should take another perspective.  How would you like it if you worked at a company since it was a start-up, spent countless hours on your own time working on a site to help it grow, only to have a non-contributing member cause conflicts and *never* listen to any advice that you provide?  Just think about it Kona.  It would be appreciated if you would stop and think prior to pushing the "submit" button.  I don't think that is an unreasonable request.

It's kinda funny to see "Stardock" get so worked up about someone. Humm, I wonder if I sent them a "warning" would it have any effect?

Jafo, A.D.D. causes the complete oppsite in most instances, once you do make the choice you have to grasp onto it with dear life or it slips away for a bit...

anyway...

Reading and working Driven to Distraction can help....

China, maybe we should have Kona alias UzEE do that... Just kidding. No offense Kona. Have you ever tried making DX objects? It is as easy as typing threads, which you are good at. If you uploaded some skins, KarmaGirl might take it as what we call "effort" and give you a Nobel prize. Peoples, this is a family site, let's kill the accusations and have some fun.

I think a law should be passed that required the entire Microsoft product line to be subjected to an inspection process by Xendre64, who would take out product activation and anything that said MSN, .NET, or "Passport."

Stupid nonexistant spellchecker...that's "thought". Jafo, how do you quote? I do not know. Yes, I am "quote-dysfunctional." It's a new syndrome, sort of like being fatally allergic to air that contains oxygen.
