Exile??

I have just been reading over this message board (board am I) And there are a few odd things I have come accross.But one that really baffles me is this exile thing. I wont name anyone as i dont know anybody here, yet. But why is someone "exiled" if they state an opinion that is not in agreement with most others? Even when there was no swearing or bad language? Just an opinion.
Good or Bad.
Seems that the replies to these posts are alot more hostile then the original thread!! Im not saying anyone is stupid but even if what they say is somewhat unintelligable, does that mean he/she gets exiled? Wow very harsh. This one particular thread goes on and on for 4 or 5 pages. But the original author posted only once.
I dont get it.
I hope im not "exiled" for writting this. Is that not why we fight wars? Iraq?
so people are not punished for thier thoughts right or wrong, good or bad?
Sounded like he was letting off some steam but he did not flame anyone.

btw, I usually don't call people "jerks" but he keeps logging in and saying that he is not himself *AND* he keeps annoying me by emailing telling me that he *needs* back on the site. Sometimes people just put me over the edge...I'll warn myself about the personal attack now

He's like a reacurring nightmare. Just won't go away!!!!
Anyway, as you can see, exile is actually hard to achieve(?). You really have to work hard to be exiled. And I admire those whose job it is to enforce the rules here. I would say its the hardest job a person could have. Think of the abuse they get in private messages......

This 'situation' was left in limbo until Karma had a chance to look into it [she's had the lion's share of the prior dealings]....and you'll notice that none of the moderators pre-empted her determination......[a case of innocent until proven moron...].
Yes, generally it'll take real 'talent' to be summarily exiled....it's never done lightly....
