Advice re: possible worm???

Wednesday, September 17, 2003 by goodmorphing | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Suddenly IE won't work at all. I have tried sys restore. Cannot access online virus scan. Norton not finding anything at all. I was thinking about re-installing from disc, but if it is a worm or virus it might wipe out the disc. What should I do?

word works, defrag works, sys restore works, netscape works, trillian works.

If this comes through underlined it is not intentional...

The first time I opened the case to put in a memory chip, I sweated so much and shook so hard that i just closed it and took it to the shop. The guy there was baffled by my desktop configuration, said the computer was FRIED because it had no desktop icons. We fought, I pleaded with him to just give my machine back since I knew it was fine and I didn't want them to break it. The supervisor finally sent him away, and they put the chip in.

The second time, I got the chips in after many tries. But i still shook.

...put it in the frig.......

....sorry, just kidding

If you have a static bag, put it in that and throw it in a box or if not just put in something so it doesn't trash the transistors..

GM.....the only 'really' delicate part of a modem card, or any other PCI or ISA card is the strip of contacts along its bottom.....body oils/sweat on the contacts can contaminate the connection and possibly cause the card to 'fail'.....other than that, you can practically kick the things round like a football....

OK, I'm getting used to the idea that I am going to have to take a piece out (asexually). But now I am wondering if I should have some other piece to put in its place... to block the dust coming in.

But later down the road she will start a thread entitled:

"My system just died!"

And after many posts we will find out it was due to dust built-up and a static discharge...
