I'm planning to move to USA and pinpointed New Hampshire, Boston
Any thoughts on the places and where best to look at etc would be greatly appreciated

What a crock...
Everyone knows if your going to move to the beautiful Pacific Northwest you should come to Oregon.
Our beaches are more Beautiful.
No sales Tax.

Boston is nice...but you need something with more life. New York City! It's a bit expensive, and noisy and you have the worst drivers in the world there...but it's still the best city in the world! It's only a 4-5 hour drive from Boston.

DM, it would depend on what kind of weather you want, what kind of work your looking for and how populated you want the area to be.(how much open space)

Depend on what you want to do. To live and work? Look at weather, the local economy, job market and the cost of living in addition to what kind of place (metropolitan or more rural) you would like to live in. It's a big country and lots of places to choose from.

BTW with around 900 miles of coastline, California has some nice beaches too. So come for a visit if you wish. Then move to Oregon.

Calif. is to expensive. You'll need a real good job. N. Calif is a little cheaper but is a lot more like London in climate (costal). Before you jump on me, I was born in Calif and still have family living there.

Depends on what you're looking for (for instance: work, traffic, taxes and so on
For instance, New Hampshire doesn't have any state income tax nor does it have any sales tax. (Of course they try to make up for this with property tax). Lot's of Mass. residents hop over the NH border to do their shopping and avoid the Mass. sales taxes
If you're looking at New Hampshire, most folks live pretty much directly north of Boston over the border in a large triangular area, roughly outlined by 3 towns: the town of Nashua forms the western corner, Salem (not to be confused with the Salem in Massachusetts) as the eastern corner, and Manchester as the norther corner. These places are about 1 hour or so north of Boston (though this can go up in rushhour traffic as many people make the exodus south to Boston for work and then back north in the afternoon.
Towns to consider in this general area, off the top of my head: Salem, Windham, Derry, Londonderry, Nashua, Pelham, Hudson, Litchfield, Manchester, Hollis, Amherst, Merrimack, Atkinson. I think Derry, Londonderry, and Windham are on average are more expensive than the other towns
Portsmouth, to the north east of Salem, NH, is another somewhat populous place
if you're looking for more rural area, then look to the west of this triangle or north to. it.
The above does have tech industries, if that what you're looking for, however there's more tech stuff the closer you get to Boston (putting aside that the tech industry is not the greatest at the moment)
Most of the tech stuff in the greater boston area, is (if not in Boston or Cambridge itself) along Highway 128 surrounds Boston (which really gets heavy during rush hour traffic. I'm only familar with the area north of Boston. Towns include: Woburn, Waltham, Burlington, Andover, North Andover, Lexington, Lowell, Tewksbury, Chelmsford, Methuen, Haverhill, Peabody, Danvers
So I recommand you pull out a map, look at Boston and southern New Hamphsire then look the above towns, and their relationship to the surrounding major highways (which will be Routes 93, 293, 3, 495, 128, and 95)
