The Aussie Bushfire Crises
should be classified a national disaster

Hi all, Shaunna, Steve and I are safe and nowhere near the danger here in Tassie, but many are across Australia and I'm hoping all WCers will join together in prayer.... or with hope and best wishes for those who may not believe.
I'm hoping that Jafo and others on mainland Australia are okay and not in any danger, 'cause much of the East Coast is on fire, as well as South Australia, Western Australia and The Northern Territory, These fires are unprecedented and many are burning out of control as equipment and firefighters are thin on the ground, given the vast extent of the catastrophe.... not to mention those brave souls who spent weeks on end at firefronts to save others needing a well earned break.
We have many sporting bodies and sports persons donating hundreds of thousands of dollars the aid the bushfire appeal, and I commend every one of them for pitching in. However, I believe our Federal Government needs to do much, much more to assist those firefighters and others in dire circumstances
Declaring a National Emergency would free up millions of dollars for bushfire relief, but I doubt our so-called prime minister would do it. And no, I am not making a political statement here. The one person who has the means and ability to assist/support those in these dire straits, Scott Morrison, took off on vacation while the country burned. That is unacceptable, given the extreme conditions, property loss and loss of life.
Anyway, Jafo, again, I hope that you and yours are safe and stay safe. The same for everyone else. Be careful and evacuate as directed or as needed.

And James Packer donated about $5 million. So many people have come together on this, and what a great feeling it is to know that goodness and generosity still exist in this world.
