HELP: Spectrum Analyzer visualisation on Xion skins

Monday, December 16, 2019 by TrancEnigmatic | Discussion: Skinning

Hey guys!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I think it's the closest. If it's the wrong one, please move my post to the appropriate one.

I've tried to go to the Xion forum but it seems pretty much dead with the last posts being from 2014 and since I download most of my skins from WinCustomize, I thought I should ask it here. It's a small thing but it annoys me. I think there's something wrong with my Xion. The Spectrum Analyzer visualisation on Xion isn't working properly here. I've tried playing many of my heaviest (in terms of sound) tracks on the skins and the bars should rise much higher than they do but usually the highest they go is either the middle of the analyzer or less than that, therefore becoming almost invisible. I've checked the 'Configure' option and then the visualization tab but there's nothing there that can adjust this. This is particularly noticeable in the Vienna 2 Spectrum Xion skin.

Do you see the Skin #1? Well, over here the Spectrum Analyzer is half the size of the one on the preview...

On the minimal mode here I can barely see the spectrum analyzer and on the Skin #2 the sound waves show the colors until the purple color, right? But over here the last color that appears is the yellow one. Even when I play a 140 BPM Trance track. This is really weird and I can't find any way to solve this. I also tried to close Xion and open it again, I also tried to restart my laptop but the end result is always the same.  Can you help me?

I haven't played with Xion awhile, but the visualizer should has the same concept with Rainmeter's one. I would say based on what you have described, you may need to volume up in your speaker to make bars visible which sometimes users would volume down due to others' application is way too loud.

I have skinned Xion some. I always turned system volume up for best visualizations. I control output by just turning down my speakers. I get good visualizations that way.

Thank you! I turned the Xion volume up and the bars of the Spectrum Analyzer visualization are much higher now and working properly. I had the Xion volume control at 50%.

Thank you very much Gaspershooters and Dcrew57!
