i lost 20 points of IQ in 1982 while bicycling. ( drunk driver ran me down and i took the blow with my head primarily). i can still beat most people at Chess and Go, so i'm happy the damage was limited.

people have occasionally come around me bemoaning their DUI citations from the "mean" policemen - NOT A GOOD IDEA AT ALL!! >

BKB...if it's 20 points off for a cycling prang then all I gotta say is.....is it OK to register a negative IQ? [I've had more than one bingle]...

So I guess no one ever got 100% of the questions right.

What I don't understand is how someone like me have such a high IQ and misspell so many words.

And Calculus is really hard for me.

I think IQ's don't say much. From what I understand it is mostly based on recall/memory knowledge of current scientific data and education.

Nothing about inter-relational abilities, artistic skill, working in teams, emotional, and other parts of what it is to be human.

Our brains abilities are able to mutli process data and combine data to form infomation, yet tests like these focus on mostly one type of processing (so do schools but lets not talk about that > )

Sigh...I can see you know nothing about IQ tests An IQ test, tests your ability to solve problems in a tight time frame. It has nothing to do with memory or knowledge (or spelling!). Typically someone with a high IQ can solve puzzles quicker, understand complex subjects easier and have a more inquisitive mind than someone with a lower IQ.

Jafo's gradation scale of IQ......where do you fit?

Or...

Where do you 'think' you fit?....

If your IQ is around 60 your nickname will be 'Drool'.

If your IQ is around 80 you'll be able to control your drooling.

If your IQ is around 120 you'll be able to create groovy designs with it.

If your IQ is around 180 you'll be so self-absorbed you'll think your drooling isn't gross.

It is unknown if IQs beyond about 140 have any extra significance......... Only aproximately 1% of the world population will have an IQ of 135 or more. Joe claims an IQ well above Einstein's.  Koasati not drool..........

einstein wasn't perfect. the model he proposed for the molecular structure of metallic solids in his earlier days was ludicrous - it only took 4 minutes for 3 of us 2nd year physics students to shoot it to pieces. high intelligence cannot protect us from the occasional upwelling of gross stupidity.

Hehehe! Listen to Fuzzy. A high IQ really doesn't mean a whole lot more than you got good results answering puzzles quickly. Some intelligent people score poorly on IQ tests, and some dumb people do good in their IQ test.

It really means as much as the Geek test (link) .

As a rug-rat about 10, I took an IQ test....said to be 'over 135' but not definable....so I'm [or WAS] in the 'groovy-drooler' class [post #52]...

Old Crab and his friend Pint are sitting on the porch having a brew and smoking their pipes. Old Crab pointed out his thoughts on such drivel as IQ tests and such what notisms and Pints only reply was - "I think; therefor- Ass I am." >
