What processor do you use?
Why do you like it?
What would you like to have?
Please lets not put people down for what they use or like.
personally I love AMD!

Actually I have never tried AMD...I have heard many good things. I know they do run hotter, I don't know if that decreases the life of the chip but for the price of some of their chips...you really can't beat it.
Of course clocking my P4 decreases the life too

athlon thunderbird 1.4ghz
p4 3.0ghz
dual celeron 500
dual celeron 300 oc'd to 450
they all serve their purposes just fine

note: the oc'd celerons have been like that for nearly 4 years...

and the performance difference is invisible unless you're a heavy gamer.Besides, it allows me to keep the house thermostat turned down during the winter

I have an AMD Athlon 1800, never had any prob. Used to have a celeron, but it was way too slow.

AMD, they're heaps cheaper than Intel chips and the performance difference is invisible unless you're a heavy gamer. |
Each processor has it's strengths and weaknesses. In my house, only my son's system and mine are AMD. All the other systems are Intel. I don't have any personal experience with the G* line of procs...mainly because they don't run anything I'm interested in...

| #14 by kona0197 - 7/11/2003 6:09:35 PM Instead of AMD I am going to try a p4 for my next computer... one of the 2 ghz models since they are coming down in price. A 2.3 celeron wouldn't be bad either I guess.... |
Bro...You can pick up the P4 1.8a chip for a steal and clock it to as much or beyond 2.4ghz without a hitch. I think it's one of those once in awhile speacial ones...It's fast.

voo wants a pocket warmer AMD
I dont like Intel because theres no NVIDIA nForce boards for them, its the only motherboards i like, not only the insane prices for a Intel chip.
As for a Mac, i can only dream about those, way out of my price range, would be nice to have one tho.
