Perfectionism in WindowBlinds Themes

I don't think I've ever found a WindowBlinds skin that I didn't feel the need to tweak before using. It's not the the skins aren't good. They're great, but I often see some features missing, whether it be big ones such as tool windows, or small ones such as the menu item extras and the treeview graphics. Am I just a perfectionist, or does everybody else mess with each skin before using it?

I only tend to use my own skins, especially as I've usually got one mid-development all the time. I certainly spend a huge amount of time tweaking my own skins before I set them free into the wild.
There's nothing wrong with tweaking your skins to your personal tastes (so long as they remain on your own machine), but often giving opinions on potential changes an author could make will get anything missing added at some point. It doesn't hurt to ask.

Remember that the author does the skin the way they want and use it, so in their eyes its perfect. In the eyes of someone else, it may not be, so one may tweak it but that doesn't mean it was imperfect or even incomplete.

Umm Thats what I purchased OD for..To tweak my desktop to my taste..so I go purley on the visual look of the skin..even if I dont like its functionality I can always tweakit..Its alot easier to tweak a skin than to build one completley from scratch..Since someone else does the huge task of most of the concept, I try to supprt by purchasing premium suites....

Call me old fashioned, but I like my Window buttons to be in the standard location! If I intend to use a skin for any length of time, I generally edit the buttons so that they behave more like the standard Windows ones.
For example, I purchased the Carbonix suite. I then edited the Carbonix graphics and buttons so the minimise was back on the right instead of the left, and I even made sure the corner background "grows and shrinks" depending on how many buttons are on the window. I do this by copying the existing buttons in SkinStudio and tweaking the locations and display attributes.
Other than that, I don't tend to add things. I can cut and paste a few graphics but nothing too complicated. For instance, I had a go at adding shellstyles to the BlueCurve skin, but it all just got too hard

Messy Buu: You should try GreenReaper's Blackcomb WB skin. It contains all possible features and is updated when new features come around.

Yeah I like how that skin has that complete feel to it, but after reading some of the replies, I'm guessing that it might be a bit of the perfectionist in me that makes me meddle with skins so much. Still though, it's given me plenty of knowledge on SkinStudio and as soon as I learn how to make some buttons, I'll be able to enter the arena as well.

Sometimes I'll tweak the font settings either to make it bigger or remove shadow / outline effects so that its easier on my eyes
