Any Amercians feeling Patriotic?

Wednesday, July 2, 2003 by e-bros | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

We wanted to make a 4th of July cursor but decided against it since there seems to be a backlash agains anything even remotely connected to the USA as a symbol..
Bummer...

But...regardless...we just wanted to show our faith in our country and say...

"ROCK ON USA!"

I, for one, hope somebody does make something to do with the flag. A wallpaper, a WB skin, anything....I don't seem to see the problem.

Like, don't get me started?

Look, non-Americans, posing as Americans have taken bags of money and B.S. out in the world and done some very un-American things. This terrorist stuff is not anything of principle. Terrorists have a criminal mentality and are no different mentally than child rapists. They just get off on blowing people to smithereens.

Anyone who thinks mistreating another person in justified is infantile, just plain infantile.

We all go through that, at about two years old.

Terrorist leaders are some sort of wannabes who recruit through fear and intimindation, holding out the hope of some sort of approval or acceptance. Wife beating, molestation, torture, hostage, murder... it is all the same emotional expression of rage that humans have caved into since the very beginning.

Our founding fathers really just wanted to get away from all that and busted their behinds to get to a new place so their children could be born free from history.

We Americans have been born free and there is nothing the world can do to take that away from us.

We weren't told who to hate or why. We weren't drilled and drilled with bitter hype against any group of people.

Go ahead and think we are stupid or whatever. We are free. We don't think like that and darn it, I don't care if you who hate us carry out every single stupid hateful act of horror in your itsy bitsy brains...

We were still born free and there is nothing you who hate us can do about that, nor will you ever know what we know by anger and violence.

Does the world see Americans racing through the streets in some homicidal freakout? Do we take money as compensation for having our children strap on bombs and die with as many as they can take with them? Suicide bombing is without a doubt as far from reality as anything I have ever considered. This is the thinking of people who have no desire or intention of solving a problem.

I'm celebrating this weekend. I hope the world enjoys watching television, going to the movies, driving cars, drinking beer, playing on their computers.

I hope no young American is intimidated by this. After all, that is what terrorism is for, isn't it?

Are we supposed to feel so guilty that we, what...? What is it that this is supposed to accomplish?

I am grateful to my grandparents for their sacrifice so I could be born free.

I'm not so free anymore and it looks like we may not be allowed to stay free much longer, but by God, we had our day and we may be the last to ever enjoy this level of freedom, so I say, "I'm comin' out... you better get this party started!!!"

If our time is short, then you better boogie while you can! I'll be dancing when the idiots blow me up! OOooOOooOOoo I'm so scared! Fools!

*flipping back a long strand of white hair and rubbing gnarled arthritic fingers*

You terrorists go to your room!

What was all that about??
A 'National Day' is a good thing and should be celebrated as such.
Any nation has that right.

There are a couple of WBlind skins and also icon sets if I remember correctly, on the WincSutomize site and DeviantArt web site.

As a matter of fact they do have completely different mentalities and goals, and that is from personal experience as a survivor, thank you very much.

Congrats on the 2 year old, Zodiaq, and welcome to the terrible 2's!

I was a little upset with the town that I live in this year.  I *love* to go to fireworks on the 4th.  However, event hough the 4th is on a Friday this year, they decided to have the Fireworks TONIGHT!!!!  I've been in a bad mood all day....

I did, however, *finally* get a flag up this year before the 4th.  It's been my goal for more than 4 years.  My hubby built me a 25' nautical pole (has a cross arm and holds three flags).  So, I can finally raise a flag on the 4th!!!!!

What's the backlash? Did I miss something? Did something happen recently?

I don't see why anyone should refrain from uploading anything American anymore now than 6 month or 6 years ago.

Anyway, I'm not patriotic. But that's just me, just like I'm unreligious. I have nothing against patriotic people or religious people, as long as they don't shove it down my throat.

Canada is just where I live and the 1st of July is just a day of work, yeah!

The backlash is the increasing anti-Americanism going on inside and outside of the US. In the US we have liberals that very much opposed to displaying the American Flag in school, reciting the pledge of allegiance, and playing the national anthem. It's rediculous how extreme liberalism has become. Outside of the US there are people who claim that America is some kind of evil Empirialist country. They often overlook all the good things the US has done for this world.

This is one of the reasons I do not register Dem hands down. Both parties have things about them that I agree with, and both have things I find repugnant.

I have a flag, it was presented by government officials at my fathers funeral. My Aunt has my uncles, my Grandmother has my GrandFathers, my wife and children will have mine, and my sons wife and or children will have his when the time comes.

The origional pledge should be said each and every morning and for the parents who happen to not agree with that should foot the bill for private school where their kids don't have to say it, possibly. Same thing goes for prayer, if you want bible school, , or pledge being under god, go to church or foot the bill for private school.

But that's a whole different can of worms, isn't it.
