Our friend is gone......

Guys, it is with a heavy heart that I pass on to you that I just received a call with bad news.
Our friend, and long time helpful soul in the forums here has died at 2 AM, EST, Thursday, Feb. 15th, 2018.
Wizard1956 has gone to be with his wife in heaven.
Wiz was a lot of help here, and a long time special friend to me. He tested all my DesktopX stuff, and that is how we met. He and his wife, Theda have visited us here in Tennessee and we spent time with them in Illinois. We grew close over the years.
It has been discussed here in the forums that he had stage 4 cancer, well, tonight he lost a great fight. He was was told that he had until August 2017 to live. He made it 6 months past his expiration date. He always had his sense of humor, right to the end.
I'll end this announcement with a funny thing he said to me on my second visit with him in Illinois.
He wanted me to come visit him, but knowing I couldn't afford the trip, he offered to pay for my gas.
I said, "Randy, I don't feel right letting you pay me to come see you."
Randy said, "Don't worry about it. I'll be paying you to leave too, so it'll even out."
I loved his humor. I loved him, as a brother. I will always think of him as a brother.
I hope you all have a few memories to share here. He will be missed.

With sadness and tears I say goodbye to a great friend and WCer, a bloke who always loved life, a laugh and the folk here at WC. I knew that Wiz was sick and wasn't given long to live, but it still hit me like a ton of bricks to read that he had passed.
No matter, his pain and suffering has ended and he can now be with his beloved wife, Theda.
R.I.P. Randy, Thanks so much for your humour and great take on life, it means a lot.

Jeezus omfg. -I can't believe it's true !!! wow puts things in perspective...or out of it.
-He was ALWAYS such a Nice guy !!!

A sad loss to our Community. Have a question here just ask and for years Randy had many answers. He has been missed since hi illness and will continue to be missed. Was an honor to have known him. RIP Randy forever.

R.I.P Randy, you fought the good fight! I too fought the battle of cancer, I'm one of the fortunate ones to servive this nasty dreaded disease, my heart goes out to Randy and his family, and also to you Jim, who talked so much about him, and your friendship, I feel as if I knew him. The Wincustomize community is the beneficiary of Randy's true dedication to this community in his ablility to help others.

Sometimes you know people are unwell.....and just hope somehow it simply won't happen.
I'm sure the thoughts of everyone here at Wincustomize are with his family.
He'll be long remembered.
