Our friend is gone......

Guys, it is with a heavy heart that I pass on to you that I just received a call with bad news.
Our friend, and long time helpful soul in the forums here has died at 2 AM, EST, Thursday, Feb. 15th, 2018.
Wizard1956 has gone to be with his wife in heaven.
Wiz was a lot of help here, and a long time special friend to me. He tested all my DesktopX stuff, and that is how we met. He and his wife, Theda have visited us here in Tennessee and we spent time with them in Illinois. We grew close over the years.
It has been discussed here in the forums that he had stage 4 cancer, well, tonight he lost a great fight. He was was told that he had until August 2017 to live. He made it 6 months past his expiration date. He always had his sense of humor, right to the end.
I'll end this announcement with a funny thing he said to me on my second visit with him in Illinois.
He wanted me to come visit him, but knowing I couldn't afford the trip, he offered to pay for my gas.
I said, "Randy, I don't feel right letting you pay me to come see you."
Randy said, "Don't worry about it. I'll be paying you to leave too, so it'll even out."
I loved his humor. I loved him, as a brother. I will always think of him as a brother.
I hope you all have a few memories to share here. He will be missed.

So sorry to read this. Cancer takes too many, too soon. My thoughts and love with his friends, family, and the WC community.

Randy was usually the guy with the answer to a question. I hope that he didn't have to suffer in the end. Thanks for letting us know, JIm.

He suffered a bit. But it wasn't terrible. He's not suffering now. I believe him to be breathing good, walking, etc. Hey, maybe even flying!!!

Randy was a special friend to me. Always offered kindness and support when I was feeling down and discouraged. I will truly miss my friend here.

Hey Bud! I pop in every so often to see who's doing what. Been dealing with health issues myself so I've spending time dealing with that. Just recently had to have a pacemaker/defibrillator "app" installed for a bad ticker. Seems one of my valves is starting to crap out. Should be at at least 60% but it was down to 15% then went back up to 25% with meds then back down to 15%...so they suggested the pacemaker/defibrillator. Hopefully this will bring it back up...we'll see. Anyway, I'd love to do some more stuff...just not right now. Otherwise everything else is ok. Sad to see this with Randy though.

Hey, that's no good. I have some health issues of my own, but none a serious as yours. Hopefully the heart issue comes good with tech they've installed and you can get back to better health soon. Don't worry about doing more skins, though, not until you're feeling more up for it. Just to pop into the forums every now and then for a chat would be good, however,
Yeah, it's sad that Randy has passed, but at least now his pain has ended and he's free to be with Theda.

No more suffering and you go to a better place Randy. Theda I am sure is really happy to see you. RIP my friend, and condolences to your friends and family.
