Well enjoy your craptacular PS2 and if you don't have one then I have one you may be interested in purchasing. Sony makes excellent electronic products, but when it comes to Playstation 2, Sony really screwed up.

Um it's a PS2. Works fine just that it is a PS2 and as such has collected dust since I got myself a Gamecube. I got an XBOX later on but that couldn't get me to abandon Gamecube. I have have played and own all three systems and to me Gamecube is best when it comes to games and the quality workmanship of the controllers and accessories. Whatever you call kid games are not just for kids. I enjoy Mario Sunshine and Zelda Wind Waker as well as Star Fox Adventures and Resident Evil. I want to get Resident Evil 0 next.

I think you are an Xbox and Ps2 hater. Why? Because you blindly look past the facts and are maybe just biased on the Gamecube side. You say, "the only thing Xbox has goin for it is online play" which is just ignorance and completely wrong.
If Gamecube had a DVD player, you would be like "Gamecube has it too". But it doesn't so you go on about how it sucks. What do you want for the price?!
If it supported high definition, you would be like "Gamecube has it too". But instead you say High definition tvs are not mainstream and bull like that.
If it had a hard drive, you would be like "Gamecube has it too". But instead you say "Hard drives break down".
I could go on....you don't have to hate on features one console has that another doesn't.

don't bother... he likes his gamecube i guess to the oint he hates all else.. i guess he got brainwashed.

I think I will keep my PS2 since there are exclusive games I will miss such as Jak and Daxter. I will keep my XBOX for the exclusives too. I own each system for their exclusives but if I had to choose just one system it would be Gamecube.

A console not really made for playing DVDs costs under $200. Buy a $300 DVD player. Now do the math. To think they would be equal would be foolish.
The Xbox IS a nice entry level DVD player. To think anything more is ridiculous. In another situation, you got a nice DVD player downstairs. Hook up the Xbox upstairs where on this tv there is no DVD player. At any time, you could pop in a DVD which is convenient.
Understand? These nice DVDs players are VHS compared to progressive scan.

I only use my PC for internet, e-mail, programming, word processing, storing data, ect. I leave it to my DVD player to play movies and my gaming consoles to play games.

Oh crap I should have keep my mounth closed... Here we go with the linux thing again...
hey you are right for once! most my games require Win 98, a 500 mhz processor, and 32 mgs ram except Quake 3... you need to try that game then you will realize console games suck in comparision.

So what if I brought up Linux. I was just giving you my PC DVD playback experience and Linux was part of the story.
PC game developers have to think about all kinds of different hardware out there to try to create games that will work for most people. Hardware incompatibility, bad drivers, ect are not something people want to have to go through. Console game developers only have to think about one set of hardware or in the case of releasing a game for all three systems, they only have to think about three sets of hardware. The game you buy for your console was designed for exactly the hardware you have so there are no compatability issues to deal with.

nevvvvvvvvver had that happen, but I play games like red alert 2 and beach head and monopoly... never had to dwnld any drivers or anything...

I was exagerating a bit. The point is that getting a game to work on your computer if it will even work at all can be a hassle.

I love Nintendo stuff, never really look for X-Box, and only wanted PlayStation2 for Final Fantasy but if there was more games of my style I would probably enjoy them as well. There is no system that really suck, each of them have their own qualities and they are mostly great because they are different in their similarities. Each users will find the right one for his taste and what is great is you have choice so now guys stop complaints of having choice

When you get a new PC game you have to install it then configure it before you start playing it. When you get a new console game, you just plug it in and play.
