When will this storm cloud go away

Saturday, May 10, 2003 by Keila | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

There has been a very dark cloud hanging over Wincustomize for far too long now.
Frankly, my husband is getting sick of hearing about it.
Keila makes the big mistake of talking to him about it.
So, if for no other reason then for the sake of my marriage. Please can things can brighten up a bit around here.

From reading what others have said I know many people feel the same way about the darkness around here.
So how about supporting this site the best way we can. With ourselves. Not with our ability to create beautiful things but with our ability to be kind, helpful, forgiving but most of all friendly.
Friendliness will make the dark cloud go away.

Angel_Wings dries her eyes and coughs and chokes and finally says:

My throat dried up and my eyes welled up and...and...and...

It seems like everyone has lost their sense of perspective, and humor. I swing in and out of here (my inspiration comes in bursts so I have long dry spells) so the change seems more abrupt to me. People seem to take things more personally than they used to.

Mebby all the people here are bi-polar and are currently having their 'down-time'.

T-Man can probably tell you exactly how often and how long I am logged into this site....it's pretty close to permanent.

I see it all [well, nearly all].  My wife has yet to divorce me, though she knows a 'bit' of what goes on. [I have noticed her look at me with that look that says 'why on earth do you bother?'... ].

One 'little' drama can be the mis-use of a graphic work by one individual that results in literally dozens of emails to and fro...a few days of concerted effort and preoccupation, numerous comparisons of image to screenshot etc..back and forth.....and all the while, something else is simmering in the background, waiting its chance to steal the attention...

It isn't much fun enduring amateur hystrionics 24 / 7 ....

Jafo, more and more people have noticed that the board was friendlier and a lot more fun a year ago. I wonder if it was because the age was higher than it is now or is it because there are 3 times as many people on the site. Maybe its both or something I haven't thought about.

WOM...perhaps a bit of both of those...and a burning need to be part of a popular and successful site, where any setback [eg. moderation] is met with resentment...

Also, it's more perhaps a case of people wanting a little 'Days Of Our Lives' or 'As The World Groans', etc in their interaction with the site...

I was ready to put the origins of it down to anxiety over global conflict, etc...but you'd assume by now that that would have eased.

As 'they' say..."it takes all sorts"...and the larger the community, the more 'sorts' you get...

Yeah. I guess when you get older you don't need the turmoil that you always seemed to have in your youth. I'am happy if nothing come up. Plus I don't really care what most people think of me. I'am tired of trying to impress people. I try to be just me and if thats not good enough, to bad. But I do try and treat people fair and honest and also try not to hurt there feelings. Thats sometines is hard. Oh well, life goes on till ya die.

Jeeze guys things change and we can't fus too much about it. the average age of the people on the boards are going down and there are more of them than us old folk can keep track of; Cause we have bigger things to worry about such as my 17 year old son in my brand new ($30,000+) truck driving his date to his Junior prom.............
