Half a slug?
In the lettuce? 
After half the burger eaten?
Did the other half of the slug go with it down nice and smooth?

That's the thing.... you only notice anything amiss when you find the remaining half.

Yup, on the first two.... BARF with a capital SPEW!!! However, I do like pretty much all seafood... including oysters, squid and octopus. Oh, and I did have escargot at a French restaraunt a few times.... not bad, either.

Glad it was you and not me! I tried eating squid once when I was dating a Greek girl in Athens, like chewing rubber! But I think watching her eat lambs brain (cooked and served in the skull) was far worse! 
I'll stick with fish (salmon is best), shrimp, crab and lobster!

That was exactly what was going through my mind. It was probably prepared the same way. I was disappointed, I like calamari, but the straight squid "needed something" - like tenderizing with a jack hammer and maybe some seasoning.

Don't like lobster or squid or clams but I do like shrimp and blue fish. Had an uncle who was a commercial fisherman out of Montauk Long Island. I watched as he took his boat out to the mile marker trailing a really big net. By the time it was hauled in there were dozens of blue fish in it. Suckers were three and four feet long. Wasn't easy trying to pick 'em up, for me anyway. I was about ten.

If squid/calamari is prepared and cooked properly it can be quite tender and somewhat palatable. A Greek family I had befriended in the 70's owned a snack bar and they often invited me to stay after closing time for dinner. Their squid and calamari, among other Greek fare they served, was to die for it was that tender, succulent and tasty.
As for the lamb brains, in the skull or not... nope, no way. That is one thing I refuse to put in my mouth.

There's nought wrong with lobster.... nor crabs and other shellfish. I like pretty much all seafood.... just not divers that get caught up in the nets. It takes an eternity to get at the meat cos of those damned rubber suits.

Banned for filleting rubber......oops......wrong thread. 
Roughly ten years ago, before I got my own place, I stayed at a local shelter. One night I came in to a huge surprise. A catering company had gotten an order for surf and turf, lobster and steak. Whoever ordered it either backed out or never showed up. Anyway...we wound up with it and I traded my lobster for the steak. Two steaks, I ate good that night.

So this bloke walks into a bar with a huge slug on his head. The barman comments that it's not something you see every day and asked: "So what's the story, then?"
The slug replies: "Well it started out as a pimple on my arse and it just kept growing."

Then there was the drunken snail who was charged with DUI while in charge of a mobile home.
And the slug who used to be a snail until he was the victim of a 'break' n' enter.

Then there was the snail who was lined up at a car wash.... he was refused service and told that mobile homes had to go through the truck wash.

The race was fixed. The tortoise was detoured by a beach and you know what they say about hares...when they get together they act like a couple of deranged rabbits. The hare couldn't resist some hopping bebop.
