Do I have a problem?

Sunday, May 4, 2003 by Michael Ficarra | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

I submitted a wallpaper pack into Wincustomize on May 2nd and I saw it in the "My Skins" section of the site. But about ten minutes later it wasn't there. I got no email saying it was rejected and it's still not there on the fourth. Other walls have already made it in that say May fourth on them, and mine hasn't. Should I re-submit it? I don't want someone to have to turn it down again. I hope I solve this soon so my wallpaper gets up on the site.

If you don't see it in you library in the waiting moderatrion or listed in your library then it was rejected. You will not get an email telling you that. Sorry

the moderators used to send out emails when your submission was rejected. They dont anymore. If your wall is gone from your "My skins", I would say it didnt make it through. Don't give up though. It took me three tries before I got one accepted. Keep trying.

if it was not on 'My Skins' and you did not receive an e-mail of it's acceptance, then it was rejected

But, I got an acceptance/regection email EVERY time I submitted my skins. Are they not doing that anymore? That would stink.

No, I got one one time for an HP logo in a graphic I submitted. It was rejected and I got a letter why. I dunno. It wasn't from a specific person. It was from Wincustomize.

That is how it used to be. Sadly the admins got too much hate mail telling them they had no right to make judgements but not in such nice words. So rejection letters are no longer sent.

If something is rejected and copyright issues are involved, a letter may be sent to advise the uploader what the rules are regarding such materials. Jafo had a thread about it here the other day, "Permissions.txt" https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?BID=WC&id=141835#143541

Thx. I gonna submit it again. If it doesn't make it, I guess it's not good enough. But I hope I get a letter this time.

We do still send letters sometimes, just not for every moderated wallpaper. If you submitted it, it showed up in your skins list, and then it disappeared, that means it was moderated.

If you submit it again you *might* get a letter...

No...not for that.
Surely you didn't expect a white blank wall with one blue pixel in its centre would be approved?.

IF you were to receive a rejection email for a wall submission it would generally be due to a transgression of copyright or 'ripping' and be a pointed way to request you stop.
Rejection emails still occur for skins, etc for similar reasons.

If a wall is rejected due to 'moderation' as yours has been then you will not get an email.

BTW....add a few more pixels to that one and who knows?....you might get a rejection email for each pixel...

I think it's pretty good work and VERY original.
I'm not arguing with a moderator, but I like it. I use it as my wall now.

I thought Jafo was joking but I know he doesn't when it comes to walls. Had to go and look at it. Didn't see the blue dot, just a hunk of white. All I can think is that you are joking. If not, Oh well.

No...it is NOT original. It is a rip of a work I did in Primary school over 40 years ago, titled 'Flea in the distance'.

You cannot post another's work without written permission.
I will contact AU to have this rip removed from there as well.

BTW, recolouring [blue instead of black] won't help you, it's still copyright theft...

WOM - you have to use a magnifying glass to see the blue dot

It's too cluttered.

Not so, Jafo, I believe it's actually a copy of Picasso's little known "Blue Flea in the Distance." From his....er, blue period, of course.
