Please, do something about it!

What kind of person is this???
Why we give to this kind of persons the authority to think that they are Gods?
I am sure that those persons are not able to draw not even a line!
This behavior is sending away all the authors from WinCustomize!
Is this what they want to do? Send away the authors from WinCustomize?
Someone has to do something about it!
We can't allow any John or Jane to have opinion about the work of Picasso; of course, they can have their opinion, but in this case counts much, because only those people are giving the 90% of the rates!!!
I know there is not any Picasso among us, but there are many John and Jane's, if you know what I mean...
Please do something about it, before it will be too late!

Every wallpaper I looked at from Adni was rated overall at 7 or higher which is pretty darn good.
Additionally, I have *personally* featured Adni's WB skins in the past so I know that they have been featured.
Lastly, skinning is for fun. WinCustomize is the #1 skin site because of Stardock. It's as simple as that. WindowBlinds, IconPackager, DesktopX, CursorXP, WinStyles, ObjectBar, and so on get over a quarter MILLION downloads each week just on download.com. Those users, in turn, come here to get skins and themes for those programs. That is, statistically what has made WinCustomize so popular.
Adni's skins have a lot of downloads and he is a very valuable part of the skinning community. WC's popularity being independent of any particular skin author doesn't take away from the great contribution of the skin authors.
I would argue that no other skin site has done as much as WinCustomize in giving kudos and recognition for their efforts. Besides the fact that our top lists, which are on our home page, we also have the in depth lists that are only a click away.
Plus WinCustomize is an amazingly reliable site. For over 2 years now, WinCustomize has been a site that skin authors can count on. A place they can freely share their creations with the world with complete control of how it's presented and without hard drive crashes, lost skins, extended down times, etc.
I think in the bigger scheme of things, that is why skin authors like this site. Because they are treated with respect and their work is safe here.

I think it's very wrong because even if you answered ten emails a day, so what? That's just over three hundred emails a month. That sounds like a lot. However, WinCustomize gets 1.2 million unique hits a month. I don't deny that what you do is great, and it helps. But there's only so much influence one person has on a site with this many users.
And no, I don't look at the wallpapers section often. But I know what I rate them on, and I can read what the guidelines say. And as you say, the issue is wider than just you or the wallpaper section. I seem to remember questions about ratings coming up in the WB section as well. I don't want to feel I could be vilified for giving someone a 4 becuase I didn't like their work or didn't think it was suitable, no matter who they were.

Of course you have featured many of my works and I thank you for that, but not a WB Skin

I believe, from what I've read on this thread, that the admins have a pretty good handle on when the rating system is abused.
Am I going to get high ratings on everything I do? I wouldn't imagine so. I expect to get some high, some low (of course the high ones are nice!). The rating I spoke of in my earliest thread 'seemed' to coincide with a bad comment, but I know now that is not the case.
At the end of the day, the reason I do this is for the pleasure of creating. The reason I do it on this site is the support I get.
I 'do' trust that the admins can keep the spoilsports from spoiling it for us all.
As for rating, I don't rate that much unless something really moves me so my ratings tend to be on the higher side.

Anyway, I have heard that this board has taken a sarcastic, nasty turn lately, so everyone needs to take a chill pill.

The fact is, you're the most downloaded skinner at this site and that alone should be enough to convince you that you're doing something right. I personally am not the biggest fan of your style, but when you do create something I like I'm the first to say so. Does the fact that your works get a few high ratings mean that everyone has to agree? No, of course not. But as long as you're pleased with the results, and the creation process gives you some pleasure then that's all that should really matter.

Any explaination about the rate 1 you have give me? Just curius to know how people like you are thinking.
By the way, I don't need any respect from no one, I am not that foul, I just respect my self and I don't want to say more about it.
Case is over for me.

Any way I have to repeat it to make my self clear.
I don't care about the bad ratings, but only for the malicious ones.
For example didn't bother me at all, the rate 1 that Denny03 has give me.
Believe AT ALL!
I also have to repeat, that this not a thread about me, but a thread about the rating system.
I hope, I have make my self clear now.

I think this whole rating thread today, has really boggled my mind.
I realize that my statement here is probably going to bite me in the...butt. But it's a risk I guess I'm willing to take. If none of my work get's approved after this, I guess it's something I am willing to live with. I'd rather never get another piece of my art get approved again, than not have the courage to say what I think.
So if my work will have to no longer be at WC for this comment, then so mote it be.
Adni,I'm sorry I have always had great respect for your work, but in all truth, as of today... utterly disspointed. Part of being a success at something is also being humble, at least I thought. Today you appeared as the furtherst thing from humble, and quite honestly, rather arrogant. There are artists here that struggle daily just to get their works APPROVED!!! All too often to only fail, yet they try and try again, to improve and get approved. While one of "WC's Greats" has a tantrum because his 10 was sabotaged? What a joke! You say you talk to the fellow artists here. Can I ask, do you know what they may be thinking today? I better shut up at this point... getting a lil too fired up, and I know when to be quiet.
If I suddenly I have a great deal of trouble getting my stuff approved, it's something I'll be ok with, at least I know I had the guts to say what I felt!
