I don't feel that I have the talent to create a full WB skin. Maybe I should say the artistry. I like to make the rainys and widgets for WB skins though. I know photoshop and have basic a understanding of how WB skins are put together. That's where I'm at.

Let me say that the reality of the situation is that as mentioned before there aren't a lot of people making WB skins anymore. That's number 1. Number 2 is a simple fact that everything from mixed nuts to automobiles have risen in price. I remember when getting a college degree was practically free. Do I like the world as it is? Hell no I don't but there it is. Deal with it.

If I had any money for luxuries buying WB skins would be right up there. So I am happy and grateful when Lightstar, Dave Bax and Starone put free skins out there. If I had extra cash I'd buy from those folks and vStyler and Adni18. To me they are what skinning is all about. Mike B and  Danny were also off the chain but it doesn't appear they are skinning anymore.

It's the way of the world but I still love Windowblinds and WC.

I love master skins. Most are quality work.

As of today just go back 10 pages and 9 per page. Out of 90, 67 will cost you. Now talk about TRUE friends.. you know how many are just .. should have been not sold.. yet its "awesome, best work yet, cant wait to get it". Wow.. really true honest friends. If you really been around here for many years .. skins are not made like they use to be. 

Your shotting your self in the foot here. You want people to WANT Windowblinds. Yet there are not tons of sites anymore about Windowblinds. I dont know any one other then HERE that still use it. Updates from StarDock are nothing like they use to be. I still pay each year.

You can do what ever you wish.. but if they are NOT selling.. cut the price.. sell none.. or sell some. Go for it.. search and search and search. LOL man trying to help ya. Keep going this way and its just faster to the end. Less people are using it yet MORE are charging for skins.

I dont suck up kiss up.. dont like agree with me great. Like ANYTHING in life.. you dont keep charging and then MORE when sales are down. You want them to pick back up. But when Windowblinds alone will cost you $10 ooh but you got have the Start.. like $5.. and then want any kind of good skin.. cost you more then 1/2 you just paid. No one wants that. No one talks about WindowBlinds.. and you are helping that. I am not like most.. never in my life charged a dime..

Did you even read the other comments in the thread? A ton of those for sale skins are updates to operate correctly on Windows 10. There are not actually that many new for sale skins going up on the site, and some Master Skinner's like my self are still submitting free skins also.

The concept of Commercial skins is to benefit/reward the Master skinners, not to profit Stardock.  They don't.

The benefit to Stardock is to entice/promote skinners to continue to produce more [in spite of them being more complex/harder to do at each 'update' to the Windows OS].

Commercial skins have been around since the dawn of Wincustomize itself...

why can`t here simply be a small  option to view some recently updated master skins  and after that all free themes ? That would stop these threads easier than writing the same thing every time.

With the current ratio it seems to some end users that all skins are commercial ones which isn`t positive at all.

I do agree that mastermind could get their own gallery. It would cut down on the countless posts on the subject. 

OK.............So I am old and out of it.  But my question to all of you is this:  Did Goghgan, Monet, Van Dyke, Turner, charge for their talent by the hour?.  NO.they created ART for the sake of creating it.  They did not create for the sake of anything else other then the sake of creation.  I understand the hours put into the great works that people do.  But I can't forget the joy of doing for the sake of doing.  I have been a painter for most of my life.  The joy of the "doing" was all that I have ever looked to.  Sometimes I succeded, sometimes I failed. but that never stopped the reason I painted.  I painted because it was called forth by the act of painting, because of the pure joy of painting.  Painting by the hour, or the amount of time, or the effort put into the painting.......was never the driving force behind the force of me driven to paint.  If it have been so, maybe I would be rich...............and called Microsft.............by the hour.

Michelangelo and Da Vinci did it for money, just to name a few. There are plenty well known old time musicians and painters who had to live from their art and where paid by kings or celibrities  oe even the church in ancient times. Please get Your historical facts right. Thank You.
