How do you handle put-downs on your work?

) is following me around (okay, it FEELS that way he-he) and putting down my new stuff I’m making like he’s god’s gift to animaton. It seems to me…some people truly have no conscience or concept or appreciation of ANYTHING. This guy is looking for perfection? Good luck!
! I see PLENTY of faults with my new stuff…I’m new at this…I’m trying my best and that’s all I can do until I polish my skills up. Uh…and on a personal note…I made a typo on my Shaman Cursor comments and wrote Starcock rather than Stardock when I was just waking up. I will NOT live this down now!
Sowwy, Frogboy…here I was…exclaiming the greatness of CursorXP and I fumble!

Poo, I say…
Anyway, I know everyone’s work gets bashed on this site and why should I be any different, right? Right! It just sucks when people try to filibuster you with bad voojoo for no apparent reason other than just being a sore-sport!

---End of bitching---
(((((hugs to everyone))))

Just some cursors in the works.
They all look really different from each other...
Sometimes I get some really outlandish ideas (like my idea of a little girl swinging on a swing at the end of your cursor when it's in busy mode). Silly!
Angel_Wings must report back to her leader now...

Purdy is purdy - doesn't matter if you're a guy or a girl - and darnit, I'm not ashamed to say that!

I have worked at Stardock for almost 8 years. Most people who work here and chat with us every day are male. I use online communication all day long. The first time that I chatted on IRC I got thwaped around pretty bad by the "guys". At least I "felt" like that was what happened. So, I whined to my boss (Frogboy) and he told me something that I took to heart: "You need to get a thicker skin. They will only bug you if you let them." And, it's the truth.
The problem that I have with this particular subject is: the comments were constructive criticism, not "put-downs" as you took it. This person took the time to give examples of points of your work that could be improved. That is what the comments are all about. They aren't for the "this rocks" or "this sucks", they are for people to respond with ways to help artists improve their work.
Now, what I *do* find offensive is how you reacted. Anyone with the IQ of a cucumber can figure out who you are calling ‘Poohead’. So, you resorted to calling somebody a name just because they commented on your work in a way that you didn't agree with. Which is more offensive: making a comment about a theme, or personally attacking somebody? (just think about that one.)
Actually, the most offensive thing was the "Starcock" reference....reminds me of when one of our Stardock Magazines went out featuring "ObjectBra"
