Sometimes I take an evil pleasure in asking people what they tried before calling me. 90% of the time the answer is 'nothing'.
I'm not cruel enough to tell people to look through the help file, search on google, and if they still can't figure it out, call me back.

So my answer to the question am I an expert, I will have to say - umm I dunno (doing best Homer Simpson impression). I can happily pull apart a computer or built one from skratch, maybe inside a fishtank or something (just to look good, no water or fish), and usually answer the question 'Whats wrong with this, look I do this and its buggered it up...'

My crime is that of curiosity, blah blah blah.

" I just restarted my computer, and I have this message on my screen that says Non-System or System Disk Error, replace or strike any key when ready".
I snicker, and tell them this is a really nasty one, please write this down... See the little button beside the floppy drive, (yeah) Push that button... now press a key on your keyboard..
Wonder why they call me an !@# so often.. >

There are multiple phases of the testing but the A+ is the baby step on becoming an expert.
One question on the A+ test asks where the recyle bin is or what happens when it is emptied.
The recyle bin is on the desktop and the icon changes. Wrong answer
