Thanks, Wiz, it has been a trying time and I was beginning to feel like I'd never move on from here.  I got so many knockbacks I felt like the world was conspiring against me.  Sadly, because of government legislation and new rulings, it is much harder to find rental accommodation than it was 10 years ago, and for every vacancy there can be as many as 100+ other applicants wanting the same place. 

Often the real estate people are not exactly helpful and can be quite uncaring, but the lady I got for this place is really nice and helpful.  Dunno she'd appreciate it, but right now I could kiss her.

I will have my work cut out for the next few weeks, obviously, but I'm looking Forward to it.  It has been a while since I could set things up as I want them, so while I'm aching and paining  I'll be as happy as a pig in a poke.

Thanks, Doc, I'm real pleased with life right now.  I've begun aching just thinking about it all, hehe, but I'm just so elated it doesn't matter.

Yeah, thanks, mate, it isn't a good feeling to be dependent on others for a roof over your head.  I should never have been placed in the situation to begin with, and I'd rather not revisit that period of my life, but the government here hasn't helped with homelessness.  In fact, several pieces of legislation has exacerbated the problem, with fewer and fewer people meeting the criteria/new laws imposed on property agents.

Thankfully for me, the agent managing the property I'm moving into went the extra yard to help me and I'm looking at a longer term, open ended lease that means I'll be a long term tenant, which both the owners and myself would prefer.  For me it means I don't have to move again for an eternity, and for the owners it stops the revolving door of tenants coming and going every 6 months, thus saving [too frequent] advertising costs and providing them with a regular rental income because the house is fully occupied.

Nah, I moved on from all that a year ago and simply couldn't be bothered with all that bitterness and animosity.  Forgiveness?  No, but it just isn't worth carrying around bitterness and anger.  I have enough issues sleeping at night [pain, discomfort, associated insomnia] so I don't need to add another reason as to why it's not so easy dozing off at bedtime.

Besides, she's back in the UK these days and currently there's no contact between us.  That may change one day, well I'm open to it, but the rest is up to her now.  She may decide to call me one day and that's fine if/when she does, but I have so much going on in my life right now it's not something I dwell on.

Damned old age!   I mean, you told Moses it was a natural thing and not to be embarrassed, "it happens to lots of men", but it's a whole different ball game now you're suff'ring it.   Yeah, that and the Zimmer frame... life don't get any better after that.

Thanks, matey, I appreciate it.  As for new toys, it'll have to be what I've collected recently [or long ago] because I have a few immediate expenses and there'll be nothing new for a while to come.  Oh well, I'm happy that I'll be able to unpack all my stuff and set up a PC work area.  Yup, I'm looking forward to all that.

Thanks, fellas, it is great to be moving after so many disappointments.... and yes, Fuzzy, it DOES have a toilet.... an indoor flushing one at thst.  However, when the house was built [approx 80 -90 years ago], it would have had the old thunderbox out back... given the indoor toilet can clearly be seen [more modern materials] to be an addition to the original building.  I don't mind, though... there's plenty of room for the usual toilet accessories and a flat screen TV on the back of the door, not like [smaller] modern dunnies, where you can see the impressions of peoples knees in the back of the door.

Also, I'm moving in on Sunday morning.  That's when I can get Ray [Steve's brother] with his truck.  I'll have plenty of help as well, with myself and Shaunna plus 3 of the brothers... and being it is just a 2 - 3 minute drive from here, it shouldn't take to long.  The truck should be plenty big enough to do everything in one load... and if everyone else is bringing the stuff out, cos I'm not so capable anymore, I'll pack the truck to ensure it all fits... cos that's what I did for a living before injury got the better of me.

Anyhow, I have a couple of days to tidy up any loose ends and pack whatever items I've been using, so I can take it relatively easy, then it'll be full on come Sunday morning.

Oh, and the housewarming barbie... might have to put it on hold 'til I can afford one.  While I mostly had the necessary funds, I'm still having to add some to the total cost... not to mention filling the pantry and having to get a dining table and chairs... I left mine at the house I rented from my niece because my mother was supposed to be giving me hers when she returned to the UK, then reneged on it.  Oh well, that's history now!

No worries, Ross, I'll be sure not to overtax myself.... not like last time I moved.  There was an urgency to get all my stuff out and I was on the go from around 5.00am until gone midnight... was near 7.00am the next morning before I got to bed.

Things aren't so dramatic this time, and having four others helping will make my job so much easier.  Once everything is there I can take my time to find homes for it all.  If I put in 2 or 3 hours each morning, and similar in the afternoons, I reckon I'd pretty near have it done by the Wednesday... that's 4 days in no particular rush.  The thing is, there's a closed in verandah where much of it can go, and because it connects to the kitchen and two of the bedrooms [which open into the hallway, lounge areas] all the boxes and small stuff can go out there out of the way

Oh yeah, and an unexpected bargain came my way this evening.  Steve's brother Russell was going through items for sale locally on facebook and came across a 7 piece dining setting... two carver chairs [with arm rests] that go at each end of the table 4 regular chairs and a 6 place solid timber dining table [none of that particle board rubbish] for a hundred bucks.  Yes, it is second-hand, but in excellent condition and very well cared for.  The purchase price was $499.00, but the owner has to move interstate and needs to make quick sales on everything to reduce his relocation costs.  Hmmm, if only I'd had a few more bucks on me.  He had some rugs and other floor coverings that would have been perfect for the new place.  Never mind, those are the sorts things I can collect as I go along.

Still not happening.  The big beast is heavier than some [smaller] motorcycles and would cost a fortune to ship locally, and considerably more halfway 'round the world.  Besides, I wouldn't part with it after investing that much TLC and cash in it.

Anyway, went to pick up the keys this morning [Saturday here in Oz] and I'm going around later to check things out and make any necessary preparations for moving in tomorrow morning.  Currently there are cleaners there just freshening the place up and mowing the lawns, etc, so I don't have that worry for a while.

Currently I'm having a cuppa and bite to eat, then I'll start packing up those things I've had in use here.  It's not a lot and shouldn't take too long, but I'd like to be well prepared for the big day tomorrow.
