Yes, pipowell...the scripts are for recording a set 'routine' such as blur...drop shadow...flood fill I think. I played out some of the PSP scripts...it was neat to watch in action.

Being a comp-user on the cheap, PSP 7 AE was the first true graphics prog I ever bought, and I get so much out of it, I really see no reason to change, but this may change now.
I remember using a demo version of PhotoShop 3.0 on a Macintosh Sys 7.5 w/8MB of ram. Those were the days when programmers knew what "clean and mean" meant.

V8 is pretty cushy...don't think I'll ever be able to use v7 again!

I've been looking at the internal coding of them and I think it would save me sooo much time in laborious things like putting 50 PNG's in a line for a DX object animation. Just need to work out how to write the code for it.

pj - Yep, I learned in the newsgroup, that to record a script for setting preferences, you have to start from default, and record the tweaking. I don't want to start over right now, so I saved my Workspace......... I'll probably record the script when I install the next release.

Actually, that Mac was a "give em somethin' for cryin out loud, maybe he will leave us alone", from one of our ministers. It came with a handful of CD's from Mac Addict Mag, and it was all I had for 4 years, it was already 3 years old.

I guess a closer look at this version is in order. From what I seen so far is a few new features but mostly the same features with some icing.

I should add that I don't have Photoshop. I have the trial 6.0 but most of it is disabled. It won't allow a save but is not on a time bomb.
What works is great and I only wish I could afford Photoshop. I have Acrobat 5 and Pagemaker which I seldom use and would gladly trade both in a heartbeat for Photoshop.

I had the same "No Save" in Photoshop 3.0 demo. But when I finished a project, I would snapshot the thing and then use another graphics prog to finish up, - aren't I bad?

I think anyone who has mastered and loves photoshop should stick with it...since learning a whole new prog from scratch is a honkin' pain IMHO...
And if you love PSP then of course...yer gon' LUV PSP 8.0! Woo hoo! (Sorry...I'm just a bit psyched up for this major update).

wow. I guess paint shop pro is pretty good. I guess I should give it a test run.
The script thing sounds good. It is cool that you can share it with other people. Photoshop has a thing called History but I do not know if it can be exported.

I am guessing Shmoopy has a wide screen monitor to fit that workspace.
Somewhere I read that the more tools you have open in Microsoft word makes it slow down. Could this apply to PSP also?

Well, I looked everywhere for free upgrade info and turned up nothing. It must have been wishful thinking on my part, yet it still haunts me
