Thanks, I try

See, boyfriend's been trying to get me to develop a "sense of humor".. or something like that.. I seem to have a bit of trouble, but looks like I'm learning a little

I never noticed a lack of "sense of humor" with you Elfkura.

Well now, I must go tell that to my ever sarcastic boyfriend (Sometimes, makes me wish he'll drop his sarcasm once in a while, but that's what he lives on.. sooo )

Has anyone noticed, JPEG 2000 is supported?

Hmmm, it saved my .bmp files in an unrecognizable format and the dumb thing keeps crashing on me.

I like the fact that after a crash, it will bring you back to where you left off.

I tried a .bmp save and it worked okay here...

I'm diggin' the font preset tool...pretty nifty.

I'm on my older desktop puter right now...250-mb of Sdram...70-mb vid ram (recently installed new vid card upgrade ) It definitely runs and loads a bit slower than psp 7.04...and I have a TON of filters in 7.04 and I wonder how long 8.0 would load if it had to load those too? Goodness!

JPEG 2000? Never even heard-O-dat before. Must be a better quality compression?

oops...I meant 64-mb vid ram

The hardest thing is re-recognizing all of the shortcuts now that the pictures have changed.

Anyone understand how to use the scripting to save your preferences?
I'm not having any luck with it, but I know diddly about scripts.

This thread turned me on to paint shop pro.
I downloaded the free try it version tonight.
Thought I would try it out and see what I think.

I downloaded the beta and have been playing around with it. They've redesigned the interface and shuffled some of the features around...so I'm spending most of my time trying to find things.

I've been teaching myself v7 and just started to get the hang of it...now I need to start over. Not sure if I want to go for the new version yet.

After the tools in the new beta are aranged the way your use to, the program is the same as the old versions. It does have a Photoshop look but is no Photoshop.

If I didn't have Paintshop I would buy the new version but the older version will do just as well.

Take a closer look Sally, this is not PSP 7 with a face lift. And why do you say it's no Photoshop as if there's something wrong? What advantage does PS have over PSP? Not trying to start a war, I'm just curious why people dismiss PSP that way.

Koasati: I think the idea is that you start recording a script and then go through the preferences setting it as you wish it. Then you save the script. If you copy the actual script file itself somewhere else safe then if you have to reinstall you can always just shove it back in and run the script to be back to your favourite settings. I haven't actually tried this myself but I imagine that's what it means.
