I would like to know what program creates .tga files i notice all the new skins are haveing them and was wondering how to edit them or create my own??? any info would be helpful thanks

Koasati, when you import a transparent PNG in Skin Studio, it will automaticaly convert it into a transparent TGA.
Had no idea you could do that ... thanx paxx!
btw.... werewolf and I have both mentioned this problem before, and no one said diddly.......... so the question was asked, just didn't ask the right person.

png is cool, and yes it is still fruit
And it is apples and oranges, but I still wonder what the resource overhead difference is between the two, or are the graphics converted anyway?
So if you have the larger tga, it converts to a smaller size graphic anyways keeping the skin side down?
I am just starting to do some graphics and will play at putting the slices into SkinStudio, that is why I am wondering, would rather start out with the correct habits

Actually PSP can do 32 bit TGA's (at least 7 can anyway)
You just need to save an alpha channel manually before saving.
Create your image on a layer or layers
Merge to one layer
Ctrl-A to select all
Click the mouse on a part of the image
The whole image gets hilighted without background
Selections->Save To Alpha Channel
Save as a new channel (doesn't matter what you call it)
Save as a tga. If it worked you'll get a warning that it's only going to save one alpha channel.
Note this will automatically set the transparent area to white. You may want to fill a layer with black and put it behind the actual image layer before saving if the translucent image shows too much white in the semi trans bits.

Yes, we could spend 5 to 7 times the price of PSP7, just so we could save as tga, easier. No thanx ..

Wasn't knocking it.............. use what you wish, it doesn't matter to me. I've been using PSP for 5 years, and I love it!
