I use Piriform Defraggler about once a week I also have over 50% of hard drive open and yes I have an external 250gb Hdd connected to P.C..My laptop runs Windows 7 ultimate 32bit O.S. and I get 20 to 22 second boots on it religiously. but my desktop runs Windows 7 HomePremium 64bit O.S I thought 64bit was supposed to be faster than 32bit O.S guess I was wrong! NEED MORE COFFEE!

OK how much RAM do you have this may be the problem because the 64bit version needs a little more than the 32bit as far as i know.

Win 7 64 bit needs 4gigs of memory last I heard. If you're using 32bit that much ram is useless, it won't see it.

32 bit can only address a GRAND total of 4gb including the video card AND bios,in 64 bit the ram limits are determined by the windows version eg home basic (8gb max). home premium (16gb) pro (192gb max) and ultimate (192gb max)(assuming windows 7) as window HATE has three version (two obtainable) basic (128gb) pro (512gb) and enterprise (512gb)(corperate only)

and these numbers are directly from micosoft developernet at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa366778%28v=vs.85%29.aspx#physical_memory_limits_windows_8

Just going back to the 'boot confusion', with sock manufacturers making [all] socks the same these days, I have sock confusion.

Frankly, I dunno which foot to put what on.

Quoting bodadog,

The middle one!

Now there's no need to be rude.  What's more, there's, um, no need to exaggerate on my account.

Upon recent inspection in the mirror [shudder] [for everything below the waist] it appears I have developed a 2nd navel.

Damned old age... can't brag like I used to.

If you're that worried about your boot times, look into getting an SSD. I'm getting around 10 seconds boot time on W8 with a Samsung 840 SSD.

You need a microscope?

I need a microscope and some salt sprinkled on... when it comes out for a drink I grab it with a pair of tweezers.

That's disgusting... and the sun don't shine there with good reason.

BTW, do you use Vaseline on your finger or do you use it unlubricated?

Another idea I had was waving something [like undies] with female pheremones in front of it.... but it was like: "At youre age?  C'mon, who the hell do you think you're kidding?"
