A formal complaint against WinCustomize.

I then conducted the test on one of my other skins, "Spander"
The result of that test was that the download total for spander rose by 15.
I am assuming this is a technical glitch, since I have repeatedly been told that this sort of thing would never be done on purpose by the good people at WinCustomize.
Please look into this technical problem.
Thank you.

Very true. I personnaly would give a whole lot more value to ratings if I knew who they came from. For example, a 10 given by somebody that I know just gives 10's all around would not please me as much as 10 given by somebody that usually rates very severely. Also, I would value a lot more a rating from a talented artist such as treetog then a rating from somebody who can rate only cause he paid a subscription although he has no idea what skinning involves and how much work doing this or that is...
But anyway. Been there done that. It was also discussed in the past to make ratings not anonymous anymore. It didn't fly because it would cut down the number of ratings, which are already very low. Also people would be more intimidated to give low ratings.
There is no perfect solution. But I would still like to know who the ratings are from. In the rare time I rate, I usually leave my rating number in a comment as well, to let the author know how much I gave him for rating. And I appreciate when people do it on my things too.

I was fairly sure that the idea had been brought up before, since we have rehashed this so many times in the past. If I remember correctly it was one of the very first heated debates that was had on this message board. It almost seems to be on a set schedule to rear it's ugly head about once every six months. I rate skins that I like and I will admit that I have never been one to rate a skin very low in 99 percent of the cases because I can see the effort that goes into the worst of skins. In the end these threads will fall off the end and we will be back here again in a few months. I hope that this ends in soon like all the rest. It being the season of giving, I think that the discomfort and ugly emotions that this entire argument produces is counter productive at best.

Somehow, it became another "Ratings, love 'em, hate 'em, live with 'em" post.

I have learned to live with them. In fact I welcome them now. All that I ask, is when I receive a low rating that the person who gave me the rating have the intestinal fortitude to stand up and list the problems with the skin that made it warrant a low rating. That is all.
