PiXtudio ... did i miss something ???

Saturday, November 9, 2002 by neophil78 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

it was a time, a few month ago when i saw a very nice work of one of my favorite designer - Treetog - which was called PiXtudio suite, and for which i had to pay (i don't remember exactly, about 10 $ - not too much and symbolic to help him in his work ...)

did i miss something or the PiXtudio suite is now downloadable for free ???? if it is (i'm not sure), Treetog please send me back (symbolicly) my 10 $ (or about)

thanks ....

Once again, it's not really for the price in itself (as it is not becomming a big habit, but just for the spirit of the thing ..... )

Anyway, with the lot of softwares to upgrade, 10$ + 10$ + 10$ + ...................................................... + 10$ become to give quiet a lot of $ ... don't u think so???? (i'm telling that as well for Stardock Team)

Davad: I agree with you, I leave on a democracy here in Brazil and also think that anybody can give their opinion in no meter topic with any kind of problem at all.

As you may saw above, I mentioned that I previously imgined that some few peoplecould be not happy but most would be glad, then I decided to do it.

In both threads, I wasn't rude to anybody, also trying to solve the situation.

I am not mad or upsad with nobody, but this thing reminds me an old thread, created over one year ago by Dangeruss , here in this same board. It's title was something like "Damn you if you do, damn you if you don't"...no metter the way you do it, you will allways make some people unhappy.

Anyway, life continues to all of us in this is not a big issue to anybody.

treetog takes a big rubber and beggins to erease this topic

"Does he not have a right to voice his displeasure at others receiving for free what he paid for? As soon as people complained about the suite, which they had every right to do"

Don't any of us have a right to voice our own displeasure at others also? ("which we have every right to do") You might also want to step back and "stop and think before you label" us who have our right to opinions also reguardless if we are "branding" or not.

Are you saying it's ok to complain( neophil78), but not ok to complain about a complainer( c242, brazil, jebland, sig101, Jafo, The Rated PG )?

Well, jebland regrets saying anything. I try hard never to respond to the posts that upset me (and there have been several) but yesterday, I broke my own rule. I apologize to neophil98. He is entitled to his opinion, just the same as I am, and I shouldn't have been rude.

treetog...I, and pretty much everyone else know in this instance that your intentions were good, as they always are. Myself, I think it was great of you to do.

rated pg....Let me clarify....neophil has a right to express his displeasure with this situation because he is a customer of pixtudio and he paid for the suite. In my mind, there is a difference in him stating his opinion regarding this and you implying that he needs his face slapped. Granted....this being a free world you can say whatever you want, but at least try to take the same classy road as the man(treetog) that you feel you must defend.

Neophil tactfully asked a question as a Pixtudio customer. He didn't post anything rude, malicious, or use that retarded vomit emoticon. Treetog responded tactfully and genuinely as he always does. But as usual, if anyone disagrees with Stardock or Pixtudio, they are treated as if they have no right to do so, and are ungrateful.

The fact is, this thread shouldn't be here in the first place.
You have a problem with a Pixtudio related matter, then you should e-mail them ,instead of being pissed off and making a public post to try and have your opinion gratified.

Hear, Hear, Hippy! I responded to this one as well as a few others on this theme. This is a tight knit community!!! Very tight knit!!! This is not a complaint, so don't start with me! And being the community it is, anything negative, will be defended. Guess that's just the way it is. Some threads could be ignored, but where's the passion in that. Ya'll have a good evening.

davad...[you're in the correct thread, now]...

The problem with the posting/creation of this thread was/is that it is both a public forum, ]NOT related directly to Pixtudio], and it is not being communicated [privately] directly with Pixtudio.

Once it is in open forum, good or bad, it MUST expect responses of varying direction and/or tact.

Personally, my interpretation of the tone of the original post was somewhat sardonic at best and perhaps sarcastic at worst. Either end of that scale would have many people jumping to treetog's defense, and it's nothing to do with 'disagreeing with Stardock or Pixtudio', but perhaps a prominent respect for a popular and valued contributor to this [and many others] site and its community.

I'm not going to disect the semantics of argumentative interpretation but to say I didn't discern a great deal of 'tact' in either the method of communication or its wording.

And it doesn't curry any favours to say that you really admire someone's work...he's a great skinner...'but' he also has poor judgement doing what he has done....not when, to tell the truth, even IF [big 'if'] this person was actually the crappiest skinner on earth, I still know him as a polite, kind and generous human being who has done nothing to warrant this public 'diatribe'.

Last time I recall a similarly directed thread it was on Customize.org, culminating in many 'veteran' skinners departing there in disgust.

Since this IS a public forum, I'll PUBLICLY suggest that neophil78 could do worse than to PRIVATELY chat with Renato and mend any bridges/relations if 'damaged', and keep further 'discussion' personal and private, where it belongs...

Jafo....I certainly don't want to be seen as defending someone who attacked treetog. I was one of those skinners who left Custo in disgust after the attack on treetog that happened there. However, I see very little similarity in this "situation" and the one that happened then.

Not to get too picky with your response, but this site is directly related to Pixtudio, as their suites are available for sale here in the Stardock Store.

And finally...how can you classify this thread as a "diatribe" when not one person other than neophil has uttered one negative word about treetog. It would be a bit of a reach to even say that neophils comments were abusive, or disrespectful.

I've always respected your leadership qualities here jafo, so I don't want to "argue" with you, so this will be my last post regarding this. I don't want to be seen as prolonging this thread any longer than necessary, just making clear my points, and continuing my long battle against the wolf pack mentality that some people here have.

Thanks, Davad...
[However I prefer to see the 'wolf pack mentality' more as a close community protecting its own....it's funny how a choice of words describing exactly the same thing can be 'slanted' one way or another]...

Jafo goes in search of a 'Close Thread' button. I think this one's had its day...

my interpretation was that the skin should have been updated and been available as an update to paid customers. Treetog is too kind (he always has been). I don't think Neophil was serious about the refund. Software is supposed to get worse as it gets older/outdated, not better.

Thanks for the updates Treetog - I don't think anybody who has seen your work has anything but good things to say. I hope the work you share so freely has and does return something good for you.
