Quote from the download area:
"Winamp.com and associated web services will no longer be available past December 20, 2013. Additionally, Winamp Media players will no longer be available for download. Please download the latest version before that date. See release notes for latest improvements to this last release.
Thanks for supporting the Winamp community for over 15 years."
That is too bad, although I started using AIMP some time ago.

Turned into bloatware long ago, I don't remember anyone that used it in years.

Really? what bloatware? I have used the pro version for years, why? because it is a damn good player that has a lot of decent skins, plugins and visualizations. I guess those things you might consider bloatware but I personally like eye candy sometimes. I have the latest version on multiple backups so I will not miss it.

If I remember right, WInamp was one of the first programs that could be skinned, so it is a hstorical event for skinning also.

Quoting JuniorCrooks, reply 3Really? what bloatware?
When I click a song in a folder, I expect it to play, not wait 2-3 minutes while all this other shit loads.
I don't know what you are talking about. I load songs fast and as a matter of fact just as fast or faster then any other player I use. There are plenty of options you can uncheck to stop the other thing from loading but even with them checked it does not take 2-3 minutes to load a song. You must have a bug in your install or some other issue going on.

Ya thanks for passing that along. WinAmp and I have always gotten along just fine.

I used winamp for quite some time as it was the default player for Sysmetrix. Then Xion came along and that was that.

I've been using Winamp to sync my Ipod for years. That way I haven't been forced to load Itunes which is legitimately annoying software.

Buddy and I talked about this for a while last night. Amazing how many college and post college memories are tied to early Winamp. Lots of Winamp controlled music in those days.

Not sure what others are using out there now (aside from iFolk). I'm currently trying out MusicBee. So far, so good..

MusicBee looks like the copycat of Foobar2000.
