That was before I got a job. Anyhow, I see your point, and my response is - so what? Just go with the flow. What do you want me to do? I already have a tarnished reputation, I can't fix that.

I was a hater too until I was forced to get a new laptop. Start8 saved the day.
Talk about haters I still have Vista Ultimate 32bit running on my desktop. I ordered it from HP 1 month after vista came out. All that time I only had to use System Restore once. Never had to format and it's been running smooth ever since.

Indeed.
W8 turned computing into a nightmare for ME. Just me, kona. Everybody else in the world just loves it.

I found a few minor things they made the first monitor start button visible but the secondary taskbar startbutton is still hidden.
Its a bit hard to have it pop up since the charmsbar is relatively near that thing they should have left 2 pixels of space in-between them.
I also face some color issues on login screen... normaly that was blue as i set it up, now its black... not that much of a problem but just saying
Im not certain yet if this is due decor8 or if its just 8.1 i set the colors in Adjustments to the same as they are in decor but still its staying black for whatever reason.
Thought it might have to do with admin privileges but iam admin on my system.
Very strange will need to uninstall decor once more to test.

Could it be that 8.1 is automatically uploading a backup to the cloud. Just a thought.

LOL@Doc. I'm sure there are plenty of people here and out there who feel the same as you do, Doc. Just not everyone.
Like Kona, there are a lot of people who do not use Stardock products as well, to each his own.
Some like, some don't, some have problems, some don't.

Its the same for most OS's...not everyone liked 98SE yet I did. Win 95...Vista and Win7. Good points and bad points. Not everyone will be pleased. I'm beginning to like Win8 after having played with it for a bit. Plus the clean installs of Win8.1 may solve some issues over time.

I went back to 8 I had problems with 8.1. On my Toshiba Satellite laptop the buttons above the numbers didn't work, lost my drivers to my DTS Sound studio. I reinstalled drivers to both but still didn't work. IE kept freezing up and on some sites pop up boxes to log into had no frames or title bars and in putting in your password there were no "OK" button. My live folders went back to default and I couldn't get to return back to the package. So I used the "Refresh Your PC" program within Win 8. It returned my laptop back to 8 and kept all my files and folders. I did have to reinstall my Stardock programs and some others. Now my buttons work, IE is smooth, the sound came back and my Live folders change with Icon Packager.
That's my 8.1 story.
Question: If this is a Win 8 to 8.1 thread why is there a discussion about why Win 7 is better?
