Question about Kik messenger for PC
They say it needs Bluestacks Android Emulator
Saturday, October 12, 2013 by Uvah | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
On Susan's laptop. She has Win8 and wants to know if Kik would be a good messenger service. I told her I wasn't sure and goggled for more info. Went to 2 sites and that info seems to be seriously lacking. I told her not to and use the one Win8 has built in. Any thoughts?

Thankyou moshi. She uses Skype but wanted one that would match her phone. Woman......what can you do. Anyway...I did some research on it and found the same thing about Bluestacks Android Emulator. I told her that I'd find out more as I'm not up on all that stuff. Thanks again.

The "metro" start page on 8 has a messenger. It sees messages from live and from FB. Probably more, if you sync it.
I like Bluestacks, it will allow you to run android games and apps on windows. Works well.

Susan decided to keep what she has. She's been using Skype since she got the laptop and going with something else would only confuse her. She likes her lappy but doesn't know that much about the software end. Besides... she has her phone and that'll do.

there is no kik Messenger for pcs as you can read on their official website. but there is a demand for it, so there are a lot of malware websites just waiting for people like you, so be careful.
the only way to get this running is using the original Android app with the Bluestacks Android emulator.
the best messenger for her is the one her friends are already using.
not sure what you mean with "the one Win8 has built in". Windows Messenger has been abandoned since a while. Skype on the other hand is not a bad solution as it is available on all major platforms. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/messenger/messenger-to-skype
